This was a missing link in my understanding of cosmology. Matter came into existence from big bang there were large clouds of hydrogen but then we are told that they collapsed to form stars and planet how? Don't worry your pretty little mind about it. This solves a lot of problems. How stars and planet came into be? Why planets are revolving around stars rather than colliding into them, the question taht has been bothering me since childhood. I can't thank Ted-ed enough for this and all the content they produce.

The collisions were not random as they seem. The fact is that the earth was formed as a result of those processes. The potential for the existence of earth was always there, even when matter was at its fundamental particles. Earth was the inevitable result, as well as the countless other stars and planets in the universe. The rules were already determined long before we started to figure them out.

And not a god or deity in sight, or needed to explain any part of this. It's almost like it could all be caused, explained, and understood by completely natural causes. Food for thought, wouldn't you say theists - or are you still not taking a bite? Well done, Ted-ED!

I do not understand why we are not mentioning dark energy and dark matter when we have these discussions about how the universe and its components are created.

Nice videos. Too many far fetched assumptions on the theory of how planets form. Not buying it. I can accept if they say we dont really know.
