How is it that a breathalyzer can measure the alcohol content in someones blood, hours after they had their last drink, based on their breath alone? And could we use this same technology to detect disease by analyzing a persons breath, without having to use more invasive diagnostic tools like biopsies, blood draws, and radiation? Julian Burschka details the complicated process. Lesson by Julian Burschka, directed by Cabong Studios

Love your content but loathe the background noise - find it very distracting. There was a dentist that claimed he could smell cancer in patients. My husband was a patient of his and now I'm suddenly wondering if the dentist told him that because he could smell it on him or just randomly sharing something with him. My husband died of Esophageal cancer that had spread to his liver before it was diagnosed. Quite a few years later the dentist died of the same thing.

This is fascinating! I can only imagine how tough the testing has to be for this to get something that actually discriminates between healthy breath and unhealthy breath to be medically useful. Here's to hoping that those technical challenges can be overcome!

I can corroborate this. I'm dealing with stage 4 colon cancer that's spread to the liver. A couple years ago I blew a slight positive on alcohol. Problem is I don't drink. So there is something to this.

Why do Ted animated videos always keep Asians closed? Asians are opening their eyes like Western people, and watch this video. Ted has a big problem as an educational video, but it's their own eyes.

Can a doctor detect cancer by smell? Yes. That is how it was done for thousands of years.
Can a machine with the capability to analyze thousands of gases detect cancer? Y is it a question?

How can dogs tell if someone has cancer (if that's a real phenomenon? Do they use scent?
Whether dogs can tell or not, I know cats can and just don't care. (I kid. I love cats, too.

Insurance costs from driving while marijuana intoximicated have spilled over to neighbouring states. Is this the love thy neighbour the biblos taught me of? Nah

couldn't this also be how some animals seem able to sense cancer? they smell something wrong with a person's breath (Or other bodily scent) and react to that.

throw in a neural network to decide what desiese you have and youre good to go, just need to develop the technology to measure the components now

I think that breathalyzers can be used as tools to help get information on things happening in the body but shouldnt be used alone as a diagnosis
