Trace the ancient history of the pigeon, and discover how these birds became one of the most abundant species on the planet. Seeing their meat as a protein source and their poop as the perfect fertilizer, humans brought pigeons into captivity as far back as 10, 000 years ago. As we carried pigeons around the world, they formed the wild urban flocks we're familiar with today and became one of the most abundant species on the planet. Elizabeth Carlen and Joanna Moles track the feathery flier's rise to world domination.

Shree, Venkatesha Charanam Saranam Prapathye
Shree Venkatesha: I'm going to stand here on the tirumala hills forever to protect my devotees in this unholy Kali yuga.
For a devotee who have complete faith in my holy feet am here to take care of him her and his her entire family during all the times they pass through the problems of this inhuman world.
As long as my devotees have complete faith in me I will not allow the flood waters of this Bhava Sagara ocean of problems go beyond their hip level.

With urban gardening and the like on the rise, isn't there any way to make use of the naturally occurring fertilizer from the local pigeon populations? Surely pigeons gather in large and predictable enough numbers to exploit this resource.

I hate pegions. They are annoying for cities. They are responsible for diseases and corrosion of metals in cities. We need more crows, kites, eagles, hawks and vultures but unfortunately they are decreasing in numbers.

Pigeon poop in someone's attic actually left someone blind and with brain damage from Meningococcal meningitis. The building is now cleaned out, but the person lives the rest of their life with this condition.

Don't have a source right now but I'm pretty sure there are studies proving that their poop is actually not that acidic by nature and most of it comes from the food they consume in cities

I've been asking myself this question for the last two weeks and didn't manage to google the answer.

This kind of relationship that pigeons have with humans is what Emile and Remy envisaged for rats in their presentational song we will follow you to mars
