Ah I see we have a few people with stories of friends or family members that had something similar happen to them or stories of them and their family going swimming in the same area, I guess you all couldn't figure out a way to say you or a family member or even a friend had known these two, so instead you made up similar stories or just being in the same area at some point!
And I for awhile wondered if maybe they faked their death or maybe Tom did, after killing Eileen, but now I wonder if what that other boat captain said was what really happened, that they managed to get on another boat!
Frankly the fact that their suits and other gear was found and without any major damage, makes me think even if they didn't get on the other ship, it certainly seems more probable that they did fake their deaths, either both did or as I said either Tom or even Eileen killed the other and then just faked their own death!
But I do lean more towards them both faking their own deaths, though why is the only problem with that one, if one killed the other, it would make more sense, since people do that all the time, with no good reason!

To answer the question at the end of this video how do you think you would have survived being abandoned at sea?
Well, as a person who loves to swim but is deathly afraid of what I can't see with my eyes that may be lurking underwater, I think I would have died of fright, especially if I saw a shark. As much as I respect and love sharks (fascinated by them) I would not want to see one in open water unless it were from the safety of a boat. I'm very courageous about many things and situations, but I'm a chicken st when it comes to sharks: ) This said, if a boat I was on had capsized and I were stranded in the water, honestly speaking, I would probably die of a heart attack if I saw a shark.
It amazes me to no end when I see people diving with sharks. I could never do that. I think these people are either crazy or incredibly brave. LOL

I grew up snorkling The Great Barrier Reef. I've always thought of the ocean as my happy place. A few years back a mate I went to school with (I'm 30 now) lost his leg spear fishing off one of the islands up in Far North Queensland where we grew up, as soon as he hit the water the water went red. He was extremely lucky to survive and is doing really well but that changed my perspective on the ocean. We will see more of this, we were locked away from the beaches for 2years during lock downs in Australia, there's a whole new gen of sharks who've never encountered humans/will not be used to us not being in there territory. It's already happening as more people started to get back into the water, look up the stats from the last year alone. Scary.

This movie is an overrated piece of
C R A P
You can avoid more than ninety percent of it and still understand the movie and the emotion well
It's only towards the end that it gets a bit better but boy it is definitely not worth the wait
To sum it up this movie is a waste of time and an insult to the couple who actually suffered and it saddens me to know that the makers of this less than mediocre film made a good chunk of profit on this silly project

Here's my thought on it. I think that the couple was abandoned at Sea and was eventually eaten by sharks. I think that they became confused, disoriented due to lack of water and food and exhaustion trying to keep themselves afloat and eventually had hypothermia and removed their wetsuits and gear thinking it would cool them down due to how the body heats up with hypothermia. I do believe then at some point they may have drowned and then been eaten by the sharks or they were attacked and eaten by the sharks but I do believe that they were eaten by the sharks.

It happens a fair bit, people getting left behind. Seen a different video of a guy who luckily was rescued. Stranded in the ocean. Tragic what happened to the couple. Most definitely dead in the ocean somewhere. Removing wet suits is a weird one. Freeze to death, eventually you will with one on. They didn't fake their deaths. They're no one important or even cashed in and left all their money in the bank. They're dead for sure. Ocean swallows up many bodies. A ship crash in 2012, 202 dead but only 39 bodies.

I met this poor lady, s brother, and he didn, t know what if any justice he could have for his sister and her husband. I told him he needed to sue, if not just to change the laws on these excursions, or rules. They needed to do name call, like they do in pe class at school. I told him that way his sister, s death would not have been in vain. So sad! But theyre, e with the lord now. .

still confused, wouldn't they have a list beforehand of how many people purchased the excursion, for example 30, and then before leaving each water site, and then once again heading back to shore (after completing all the sites, wouldn't they count everyone to ensure they were there back on the boat?

My own guess is that they got left behind. Tried to survive but gave up. Removing clothing can be a sign of a mental breakdown. I think possibly with the husband already in a state of depression convinced his wife to just let go. I don't blame them. The chances of survival were very slim.

Im aAussie, and have been on similar excursions up the Gold Coast. How the bloody hell can this happen? If there re X amount of people go in the water then X amount should get back into boat. Double check then triple check there should be no room for such gross incompetence

How do I think I'd of survived? I don't just think I know I wouldn't, no chance in hell. If the elements, or sharks didn't kill me the panic from suffering from Thallassophobia would kill me. But given that phobia I don't is ever find myself in this situation.

They would never take their wetsuits & BCD off imo, never. You can float, stay warmer, defend from it, so strange that their equipment was untouched by Marine Life always sad to hear, any Diving Disasters I brought many in & out safely, PADI MSDT 99399

they're only hope would be to swim. they would jettison all stuff that would slow them down. I reckon. watching a lot of shark stuff. that sharks likely took them sadly. they would have supported each other though and given each other strength I hope.

There was a second incident in Australia of a couple who was abandoned but later found. That would be a good one to do for your videos too. Let us never forget the moral to the story. Don't go on a dive tour in Australia.

I consider myself to be a good swimmer but if Im with a group I stay with the group. That couple was negligent regarding their own safety and I find it hard to believe that they didnt know what they were doing.

None of this would have happened if the boat crew had a simple list of their passengers names; and the passengers had to sign off next to their name when they came back from their dive.

Once the 2 of them were faced with the high possibility of death I bet they decided that they were not that unhappy afterall. surely they realized how precious life really was.
