Let's have some history here. Pirates had the same duties as regular sailors - except a pirate ship was never understaffed, so the work was much easier. Pirate ships where the food had gone bad had the option of going into port and buying fresh food - something that didn't happen with navy or merchant ships. This also meant that pirates were much less likely to get scurvy. Pirates also enjoyed spiced food. They stole the spices, but regulars sailors didn't have access to that - spices were expensive. People of the time said over and over again that pirate life was much easier and more pleasant that the lives most people lived at the time. Get it right.

I heard via another yt video sharks followed pirate ships as they threw their waste out at the back off the ship which attracted small fish which attracted larger ones lol. Another reason not to jump out for a dip. Also the speed of the ship; unless it's at a halt why would you jump out to wash?
It's a huge risk for them to halt and stop. Ofc they hardly washed themselves properly to contemporary western standards.

Actually, sea water is wonderful for the skin It can also act as an antibacterial for pirates especially if theyre letting gunk buildup in those tight spaceswhy do you think we gargle with salt water when we have a sore throat, dum dum.

I mean, you're surrounded in salt water which is a pretty good cleaning agent. I would think pulling up a bucket of salt water to swish around in your mouth (to kill germ) and to bathe in would have made sense. but apparently not lol.
