As our archeology improves with advances in technology we are finding more evidence that the first forms of civilization may have been around far longer than we previously thought. It's looking like small cities of several thousand people may have been common and remained stable as far back as 20, 000 years ago, rather than the previous estimation of the advent of agricultural around 12, 000 years ago. I'd like to see more videos on the subject since it is mostly confined to news briefs and scholastic journals. I think it would far better explain the sudden rise of full fledged culturally identifiable civilizations in Mesopotamia. It seems that such sophisticated forms of government would have more gradually evolved, allowing an elite class to increasingly take hold and then causing a sort of runaway profusion of kingdoms with a strong central government capable of organizing the resounces and large projects that we associate with the major civilizations. We know so little, but I'd like to know what little we do. It might be a bit more speculative than the usual videos, but no less intriguing.

Love love love ancient history, the epic story of humanity in the soil of Earth. I try to always imagine what was it like then, the countless days that the Sun rose over lost temples, cities of people who have lived go without name or history now nearly forgotten. The dust of 10, 000 centuries gathered in their belongings, left behind utterances we could not decipher and the laugther of children instantly vanished into obscurity. I also like to ruminate on what the senses were stimulated by; the aroma of many foods and the bounty of their lands, the plush hue of their clothes, glint of jewelry, and the sanguineous flush of their skin. I shed a tear for the amount geniuses we will never know, some lucky to have their names uttered thousands of years after they have left this realm. Thankful I am, no matter our current modern ills, to all that spoil, for which those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.

Im from Belize and we have many Mayan Ruine here, its so creepy but so adventurous to climb those tombs. So high! Some of the very long steps are sipplery like fine marbles tiles. Beautiful. The civilization they built are breath taking.

Man, I just hope one day we can take a peek to the past, either with time machine or something else, and seeing this magnificent civilizations with our own eyes! Movie and CGI is cool, but I want a real deal!
