She s the most successful serial killer whose name you ve never heard. Giulia Tofana killed hundreds of men in 17th-century Italy when she turned her makeup business into a poison factory, selling a deadly concoction called Aqua Tofana. Her crimes place her among the most deadly female serial killers in history, alongside the Russian noblewoman who killed over 100 people and the Hungarian Blood Countess who may have killed 650 people. The lady in the right of the thumbnail is from Leonardo da Vinci s 'La Belle Ferronniere'. I have a magnet of the exact painting on my fridge from The Louvre, from when I went to the Leonardo exhibit.

Bailey Sarian did an exccellent video on Giulia Tofana.
She's one of the few serial killers in history you can kinda empathize with, especially as a woman. She wasn't helping people kill a ton of men because she got off on it, she was trying to rescue her fellow women stuck in what was usually incredibly absuive relationships. Something she knew about first hand. She was probably a hero to many women who won their freedoms (at least for a while) because of her. She obviously made a huge amount of money, but she likely saved as many lives as she vicariously claimed, so it's hard to outright dismss her as a monster like you would Bundy or Gacy. I know she's classified as a serial killer, but at the same time it doesn't seem like she got her rocks off on it so much as she wanted to help women and make money at the same time.
I'm not condoning all the times she's murdered people by any means, but we've all seen or heard of cases where it seems like the only way someone so evil will stop is if they are stopped. so enter Gilulia Tofana. If women were allowed to leave their husbands then Giulia Tofana probably would have an entirely different (and less deadly) side hustle.

3: 05 German American supermodel Heidi Klum, who is known for her big Halloween parties, did her own makeup for her first costume of Heidi (the character from the Johanna Spyri book.
I don't know much about the modeling industry, but she made it sound highly unusual for models to do their own makeup.
