In case of nuking an asteroid you have to hit a target, which moves with high velociy and according to a german documentary a nuke would have almost done nothing to the asteroid. There is also the risk that the asteroid breaks into smaller pieces after getting nuked. These pieces are smaller but still large enough to cause catasrophic impacts. On earth it might happen, when these pieces are scattered across the globe. So the earth comes face to face not with an asteroid but instead with an approaching cloud of large pieces of rock still large enough to result in incredible devastation.

The Indian Tamil Movie Tik Tik Tik was also based on detonating an asteriod by stealing a nuke from a space station. They find the weak point of the asteriod and hole in it and send the nuke inside of it and blast it and the asteriod splits into two and diverges from Earth. You should watch the movie. It is pretty interesting.

I think after you nuked it and if few of the asteroid weren't that radioactive we can just mine it and search what mineral is contained on asteroid

Nukes can't destroy asteroid couple miles wide. Biggest nuke crater on Earth is less than half mile wide, and only 100 meters deep. the deepest.

I wonder if it could be possible that eventually through dart. Asteroids would end up orbiting the earth and create rings? Just food for thought

A nuke would not be able to do anything to an asteroid even of it is Tsar bomba as some asteroids are made up of very heavy metals!
