We would be fine. Titans are laughably weak.
Weaker ones can be pierced with muskets. Our ordinary rifles would obliterate these things with hilarious ease. Hillbillies in pickup trucks would solo the pure titans by themselves.
Anything short of the absolute strongest titans can be mutilated by colonial cannons, so most abnormals and shifters could probably be handled with anything large enough to be mounted nowadays. A bit much for the hillbillies, but even a police force could take them out with some preparation (re: literally just ordering one.
Now the armored, warhammer, colossal and founding titans are more resistant to cannons, but even the biggest and baddest of them was decapitated by a bomb designed for a single plane. The military in whole wouldn't even need to deploy-a -single drone could take all of them out in one flight. -

If titans were real and humans actually got along you know we're gonna exploit the titan's hardening ability to produce an infinite amount of hardened materials to work with. I mean come on crystals hard enough where nearly nothing can penetrate them, and materials to make giant ass walls that prevent nearly anything from breaking them down, that is free resources right there like an infinite cobble stone generator and diamond generator but irl. It's also shown that the hardened titan still persist after the user has been removed from the titan shell, season 3 eren used the hardening ability to plug the holes in wall Maria.

I'll make the same argument here that I did on if modern-day Humanity could survive the rumbling, humans are just doomed oh, it doesn't matter if we have extra terrestrial levels of Technology. See, if Titans were real, they will be much more deadly then they are in the show or Manga, and the reason for that is because this is reality and s--- hits the the fan more often than not. Things would just be overwhelmingly bad and it would be a worst-case scenario.

SPOILER WARNING: Heres the thing though: for there to be titans, there has to be the founding titan. The founding titan could easily do what karl fritz did and create the walls and erase the memory of the people in the walls. he could move the titans to a secluded area, where only the people in the walls are. the rest of the world might not know, and the people in the walls would be clueless about the rest of the world.

Shooting them at their nape with a sniper or guns isn't going to do the job their skin is thick and only 100 mm shells can penetrate or a big boom shot at their nape will guarantee a kill. not even drones could do anything since it will just cause some shrapnel in the nape only missiles or main guns of tanks and artillery could do really anything.

Btw you can't just shoot a titan, just like normal titans you've seen the series the cut has to be deep enough and it would have 0 effect. think about it if cannons are more efficent and they dont work guns definitely won't make an exception, hardening could save them and what would we do about the armored titans hardening?

The reason why titans eat humans its because they know that if they eat a titan shifter (a person or human who can turn into a titan and can control it) they can turn back into to a human so they try to finde them eating the wrong humans over and over again

I feel like the colossal titan could probably be brought down buy a squad of some F-35's loaded with tactical nuclear missiles. That is, if they don't get yeeted out of the sky like they got hit with a giant fly swatter.

The military would try to find a titan shifter and just essentially use them until their purpose is served, with no evidence of ymir, no curse so therefore, they can have this shifter for years on end

Most of them actually have the exact same density as humans, so just use explosives of literally any kind. Also 4th Of July would be a genocide day for the titans.

If you want to beat a titan, i'd say the ones with hardening are gonna be harder than normal, because the hardness equals the crystal they use to make ODM gear.
