I disagree with three things.
First of all, explosions. Yes, there is no air in space, but a spaceship contains oxygen, plus the fuel that is there and sometimes the weapon can give us a ball of fire for a moment.
Third, the asteroid belt. Maybe in our solar system this belt is not as dense as they show in the movies, but what prevents the existence of such belts densely packed with asteroids in other solar systems?
And thirdly, of course, there is no sound in space, you can't hear anything, but we can't watch a movie without sound, that's why movies have sound in space to make it more interesting to watch.

The sound that was picked up from the blackhole is not because there is a gas cloud surrounding it. We still wouldn't -hear- it because sound would be lost the moment it left that gas cloud (assuming the gas cloud is actually thick enough for sound to travel. What we're -hearing- has to do with the blackhole's electromagnetic force that it is generating. The planets, even the Sun, do the same thing.

If we were being lied to about all these things then how would he even know the truth. We've learned all of this in school or at least I have. I gotta push back on spaceships are incapable of exploding because of the lack of oxygen in space. I would think that the occupants of a spaceship would have the entire ship flooded with oxygen. Otherwise, what are they breathing?
