What If We Woke Up Volcanoes to Fight Climate Change?

FBTwitterReddit

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Several volcanoes around the world are being woken up on purpose. The mission? To use volcanic eruptions to protect the Earth from global warming. In what ways could you activate a volcano? How could you do this in the safest way possible? And would this save the planet or create more climate chaos? How will they stop climate change? What is solar geoengineering?

Okay first, you have many facts wrong. First, you started by saying this was already happening and then said, should it be done and where? This is clearly a contradiction! Also, it would only work if you chose stratovolcanos bc they are the only ones that have enough kinetic energy to distribute sulfur dioxide aerosols into the stratosphere, hence the name, -Strato- volcano. Any volcano with a VEI of 5 or greater would likely work. Below that you are looking at volcanos like Kilauea whose SO2 never leaves the troposphere and would be pointless. I think you should find ones where there are few to no people in harms way. There are weapons that exist that cause massive seismicity which could possibly or even likely cause more than one volcano intended to go off. I don-t like that you started this off by saying this was happening and then backtracking by saying -what if! - Come on! You are just trying to freak people out without giving them the actual proven beyond any current reasonableness doubt in science. You would need to find stratovolcanos that are nowhere near populated areas and could do the least harm to people, pets, healthcare, homes, food supplies etc and still have the ability to erupt thru the stratosphere where we can get the chemicals necessary to affect global climate change. Your video answered no questions and raised a ton. Perhaps go to college, get a geology or geoscience degree and start this video over again bc you just sent out a video to a billion people with more misinformation than Trump has spewed out in 6 years. It could work but you need to speak to an actual scientist before endorsing this nightmare you created. I-m happy to help. Just let me know! But you had like 34/50 things incorrect and badly incorrect and we don-t want to spread misinformation you know? I hope you find someone who can help you remove this video, make it right and then repost bc it-s actually doable under the right set of circumstances. I-m glad this geoscientist (me) could offer you some help and insight! Flight on!

Sure we can. If you want to deal with over a trillion dollars of property damage and attempting to evacuate nearly half of the USA's populace. All that would be needed is to force a Stage 3 Super-Volcanic Eruption from Yellowstone. But this would likely only affect half of the Western Hemisphere.
Alternatively we could put everyone on the Moon and then remotely detonate a number of high yield charges to attempt to provoke the Ancient Volcano God, La Garita to erupt and cover the entire Earth in one go.

Yes! let's ignore the extra amount of carbon those eruptions pump into the air that will eventually make the earth hotter in the long run, Not to mention the sulphur that will most definitely cause Lung diseases and suffocate millions of humans and animals whilst doing so. And also (Ignoring how severely the ozone will deplete) Its obvious blocking out sunlight for small periods don't have THAT big of an effect but imagine doing this regularly, the dinosaurs died for a reason. But what if?

Volcanoes emit large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change. Waking up volcanoes to fight climate change would likely have the opposite effect and make the problem worse. Additionally, attempting to control or manipulate volcanic activity is extremely dangerous and likely not feasible. It is important to focus on reducing emissions and transitioning to renewable energy sources to combat climate change.

This may be a bit sci-fi but what would happen if we were to gather and grind down and make a powder out of volcanic rocks and then place the powder in the warheads of a couple thousand big hydrogen bombs and explode them in the stratosphere? Or assuming such thing existed, would it be possible to use an element that can break down carbon dioxide in said warheads?
reply

Well if we look at it realistically it would work, this would destroy us tho. That Many eruptions at one time- suicide mission. And the only way we can stop climate change would be to reduce the human population by at least 3-4 billion people. One human baby alone breaths out a ridiculous amount of carbon dioxide. Now times that amount by nearly 8 billion.

So dose this strengthen the atmosphere? Im no scientist and i find it awesome what the latest volcano eruption did, but yeah cooling down the earth might not work if the atmosphere will still get weaker, they could always shoot up sulfur to block sun, but if the atmosphere gets weaker we will be in trouble idk tho lol just trying to understand it better

I remember my mom telling me when the Mt. Pinatubo erupted. She said that everyone was suffering because of low food supplies because the smoke from eruption almost covered the entire Luzon region of the Philippines and that smoke is the reason why it started raining ash, which is what made life harder in those times

Does anyone know the lady that predicted what will going to happen in 2022 well let me just tell you a story that might scare you when the iceberg breaks a deadly virus is going to release to humanity and it might kill us so be careful in 2022 we need to take action

Filipino here and also avid fan of what if. Suggested content to mr. what if Apo Laki Caldera a. k. a 'benham rise' lately changed to 'philippine rise '. World's largest caldera and the world should be thankful of. .because of the fact that is already extinct: D

Global leaders wouldn't want the Artic to freeze again. They're freely traveling and mining now so unfortunately, we will continue to loose millions of folks to heat waves, floods, fires, etc. So oil companies and transport through the Artic can continue.

i think this is nonsense no offence(The Statement comes from a heart of Reason in light of the truth and not malice)that is why i say so, b4 someone takes offence or quickens themself to do so.
Founded on science and reality.

I think the planet would be saved, but not usable for a while. notice, important thing here, mentioned, is the planet, not we the people. How can we live on a planet, if we stay to quickly kill it again. Maybe beyond repair

I don't know why but I am getting scared from all these experiments. China found a dinosaur egg. With a baby inside of it (dead) but still what if somehow they bring back the dinosaur by some DNA shit processing ---

I am a Filipino and I'm surprised how the Mt. Pinatubo Eruption impacted not just the entire Philippines but also the global temperature of the whole world at that time. Btw, I'm always enjoying your What If? content -

Aerosol particles dont stay in the atmosphere very long. If for any reason you fail to keep up the release of aerosol particals into the atmospheres, the greenhouse effect would be a lot faster which is much worse.

There's no need to save planet Earth. It will survive any climate crisis.
We humans are the ones need saving for our own greed. Greed has cause the climate crisis we are facing now.

What if-. Global Warming is not true. Then where would we be? I think we shouldn-t mess with Mother Nature unless we are absolutely certain about the outcome. Well-. Do you feel lucky?
reply

Oh we humans! first be the problem then to deal with the problem create a bigger problem and then just sit and rethink all life decision in a pit of shit! Nice. way to go fellas

It's sad that global warming doesn't have a direct solution to it. Potential solutions always have consequences or any other problems that will arise in one way or another

Who is waking up volcanos, with whos permission and who did the Consensus. Why these 1% dont ask anything to the rest of 7billion. Who made the 1% masters of 7 billion
reply

You also want to avoid erupting wrong kind of volcanic eruption, as it will cause global -warming- instead, like the one at Permian Triassic boundary

What if a really large asteroid, like Ceres, collided with Mars or our Moon? What would happen to us here on Earth? Would debris rain down on us?

Haters be like: -Volcanos release CO2 and don't heat the planet, so human made CO2 also doesn't hit the planet! Leftist propaganda! REEEEEEE--
reply

This video really explains that humans is the one destroying the earth and humans should sacrifice some of resources to fix the earth itselfs---

Why not just spray the rightful quantity Sulphur into the atmosphere instead of triggering volcanoes that cld hurt people n plants

Stop pushing Bill Gates Ideas. He belong from the race of nation killers prophet killers and baby killers, with no love for humanity
reply

All this would do will cause more problems as a volcano is a cause of climate change Naturally but we are the main cause
reply

Doing this would lead to crop failure as crops would not be able to get sunlight to grow, creating a food shortage.
