What If the Largest Asteroid Hit Earth?

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Some seriously large asteroids have threatened Earth before. Some of these asteroids have little chance of hitting us but there are a few with very real chances of making contact. What happens if a large asteroid or comet hits Earth? And what are the chances something like Oumuamua or Bennu could actually hit our planet?

I'm Benjamin from kenya and sorry if I may ask, during the night, there are some falling objects, since when I was young, I thought it was stars but after learning much on outer space I knew that stars are way huge than I thought-, and since africa I still in the -stone age- I don't know what that falling objects are in particular, the size of I think an orange glowing and falling in roughly, - breaking the sound barrier. so if anyone knows what that is, comment down below and let me know your opinion in relation to what I've just showed on screen, they fall randomly and vaporize at roughly 70 meters from the ground -. I would walk out in the morning to where I saw one fall, but I never saw one, I'm in total darkness.

If you are going to make videos like this, at least get your facts straight and be consistent. The mean diameter of Ceres is 939 km, not 450 km. You are mixing customary units with metric. If Ceres somehow amazingly left its orbit and intersected Earth orbit at the exact same time and location that Earth passed by, it would not be the end of Earth. Geologically, Earth would barely notice. It would survive just fine. Earth is nearly 10, 000 times the mass of Ceres. Life wouldn't even be extinguished, just set back a bit.

Back in February of 1993, I was listening to a radio show on Pasadena's KPFK called -The Wizard Show- and one of the guests on the show said an asteroid is expected to hit earth in the year 2018. I thought, Oh, that's a long way from now.

Whenever I get disgusted with humanity, I watch this video and feel better, knowing that there's a chance that all these bastards and SOB's could get destroyed one day.

This vids alright but some of ya vids are just scams bro. talking about planets 3000 light years away when we can't even take decent pictures of our own solar system.

Im quite suprised 99942 apophis wasnt mentioned in this video, despite being one of the only around 20-30 million tons asteroid to pass very close to earth in century

Oumuamua wouldn't have caused that amount of damage. It would have broken up in the atmosphere and became a bunch of smaller pieces

Hey Peter, I really like the way you talk to the viewers and how the story is dived in a short time. You guys changed my life.

I'm sure the Democrats are already trying to come up with a way to blame this on Trump, white supremacists, and systemic racism.

The speed and velocity is what kills us. Its like throwing a ball a short distance like 2 inches vs it being shot out of a cannon

How to have big letters: have a - at the end of a sentence and the start then it will look like this: -Hello! -

Every scenario in this video ends with -you'd all die- in case anyone wants to save 8 minutes of their time.

Maybe an asteroid will finally put an end to the Marvel Universe and Star Wars movie franchises. Please, dear God.

Why not just ask -What would happen if Ceres hit the Earth? - Ceres is the largest Asteroid in the Asteroid Belt.

What if we forget about natural disasters that may happen and instead focus on how to fix this broken world?

Thankfully we have Jupiter and Saturn protecting us from most of the larger asteroids and comets. But not all.

I remember when Shoemaker-Levy 9 was going by. I stood outside as long as I could, it seemed to never move.
