This is a no win scenario. Earth couldn't survive Jupiter if it did as has been described here. The only chance would be to evacuate Earth. And not many people would survive it. The Moon would be sucked in - and be destroyed. Unless there was a way to evacuate the planet - any evac is likely to be small scale.

Jupiter does catch some asteroids but. The Solar System is 3 dimensional and Jupiter is not always aligned with Earth. At times, it is on the opposite side of the sun as Earth and any asteroid that is heading our way does not have to contend with Jupiter if it can reach us without even coming close to Jupiter.

Yo I just had a dream Jupiter was above the earth twice and it's getting closer. Like it came then it left then came back and leave again. Everything and everyone was floating a huge earthquake came and for some I survived by holding tight to the stairs.

I think Jupiter is much larger than what's suggested. Only 11 times larger than earth? I heard a long time ago you could fit 50 earth's in the great red spot on Jupiter. So I'm guessing Jupiter is far larger than just 11 times the size of earth.

When Jupiter got to the Roche limit the gravitational forces would break the earth apart and form a ring system around Jupiter just like around Saturn. The earth would never enter Jupiter whole.

If Jupiter's speed increased it's more likely its orbit will get larger or it will fly way from us. If it slowed down then it would be heading towards the sun and in our path.
