What if the British Commonwealth was a Superpower?
video description
How on earth could you say that the white government was moving to integration before WW2 and the black nationalists moved to segregation after it? That is completely delusional, if not overtly racist.

Umm, the british commonwealth is THE superpower.
The commonwealths queen has so many connections in every country,
she literally owns every sixth acre of the earth,
she has access to secrets the united states would destroy itself to possess,
she's wealthy beyond measure (makes Erebor at its zenith look homeless,
she universally beloved (minus Megan Markle of course good move your highness) and respected by her foes.
All her highness has to do it in her nation is point at someone and say die and they do, then the bobbie's say wonderful shot your highness! After they watch her do it. (Not that she would but she can't be touched in HER nation)
She can turn most 1st world, 99% of second world and all but Iran and north korea of the third world into a state of economic devastation with a few well placed calls. (Rothschild family are on speed dial and who'd have the guts to tell a Windsor no)
Her nation is older than every other besides France and Spain (which they are related to)
That is being a superpower in my book.
Now a days the United States presidents get put on hold for anything and everything (thanks Trump. China can be stymied by a nation, her ability to project power via every method is nation ending of needed and on top of this the commonwealth is a nuclear POWER. If she were so inclined she could destroy the world via mushrooms.
Don't give me IF it was a superpower because it is THE superpower they just don't telegraph it in the open.

Nah Australia would have been fine with it, we were the agricultural base of the empire, we grew the wheat and sheared the wool, aswell as mined the coal and iron for British industry, we had a good rort goin.
But you are joking if you think that the colony thats first order of business was the white Australia policy would allow coloured migration, shit, even with your 1895 imperial Federation, we still had the anti Chinese riots and racial strife in the goldfields. By 1895 who we were as a nation was decided. We were a white nation, for the enterprising anglo Saxons and Celts who were born too low in the social stack of Britain to succeed there, we were well aware that opening that up would cement our cousins in the mother country to their social classes and doom them. We had a strange worldview. But it worked, if Mosley ever came to power he would have just copied us, without ever studying the philosophy of fascism or national socialism we came up with an anglo Saxon expression of it, free to work as ya saw fit, free to travel and own land while still having a string state and shared identity. Let's face it, anglo fascism is just state enforced libertarianism, while it would see people get poorer if they had bad ideas it would also see people get richer of good ones.

The trope of African borders hur dur is such a cliche to be honest. It's a very modern and very Eurocentric thing to even think that a state must only have one ethnicity. Some of the most successful states in history like Rome and Persia were mixed. The problem is the colonisers never developed systems of power for the colonies to rule themselves. African states don't have regions/cities/tribes powerful enough to rule over the entirety of an ex-colony because colonisation does not allow that to form naturally. The only African colony with it's centre of power WITHIN its borders was probably South Africa with the Afrikaners ruling from the powerful core around Johannesburg/Pretoria, and that's just because in that case the colonisers just happened to live IN the country and not outside of it. The problem is not borders but institutions, or lack thereof, and those institutions could not have naturally formed within the borders under colonisation, and the coloniser also didn't do the trouble to develop them.

how is it hard to label areas of american influence? the usa has massive influence in asia, much more than china does. Africa less so but its still significant. We dominate japan south korea taiwan australia etc. These countries do not have very much independence in foreign affairs and are culturally and economically hugely influenced by the USA. They also have usa military bases on their soil with no control over them. South korea is literally a usa protectorate and during a time of war, the usa takes command of the south korean armed forces and would effectively do so in the other countries I mentioned. There are many other countries influenced by the usa as well to a lesser extent.

The British didn't crush the Malay rebellion. They did the exact opposite of what the US did in Vietnam. The British sent in four man teams to villages, one of which was a doctor. These smaller teams had to rely on local help and the vulnerability itself was the message: . We are here to help you and will risk our lives to.
Contrast the USA sending 19 year old PTSD'd second looies trained on US race hate ideology, to command draftees of low IQ including no one with a college education. in large numbers with heavy firepower the corporations wanted to test.
On the villagers.

Monarchies do better, period. The constitutional monarchy is the best form of govt that humans have yet invented. This is the first commentator I've seen who recognizes that in the Arab Spring monarchies did far better than the republics, from a chaos point of view. Now of course we can see Canada doing better than the US.
The divided powers models that both US and Mexico got from copying their prior constitutional monarchies function better than most republics but the US one has now failed due to the lack of limits on foreign affairs power placed in a monarch.

1: 00 as a brit can i just say thankyou that your acknowledging that britian wasnt some slave trading single power the whole of europe was in a colonial sense. Some Americans and english people think it was just uk and blame us for everything when uk was actually one of the nicer countries when it came to breaking apart. France and belgium were brutal. Im more talking after the suez crisis thats kinda when colonialism got its death certificate.

Im British and one thing I think you got wrong right at the start is that Britain is not restricted to getting in wars only that involve the US. Like sure the allied thing would be appreciated and whatever but like if it was for something we believed in we dont care whos on our side. If its for freedom and the rights of people and if we can blah blah well engage that shit on our own if we gotta. Those rights is the shit we live for.

It's true the French would just whack a Mugabe or Amin. They did it to Gadaffi eventually. The 1953-2003 USA however made the mistake of knocking out anyone they didn't like also picking the replacement, like restoring the Shah. Bad idea. US client dictators led to today's horrors in the Mideast & Asia. Had the US not propped up Chiang Mai Shek, who was quite corrupt, a better leader to oppose or deal with Mao might have emerged.
