Turn Based - Civilizations V (PC) - long game with a lot of depth
Racing - need for speed most wanted (PS2) - lot of rivals in story mode, race for pink slips
MMO - Eve Online (PC) - Brilliant PVP, make new friends, unbelievably complex in game economic system, freedom
Stealth - Metal Gear Solid (PC) - franchise peaked with this one, boss battles were fantastic, great story

best action adventure game of all time is obviously infamous 2 I mean come on you've got a great story amazing gameplay mechanics like climbing upgrading powers and just so many amazing things in the game not to mention the great story behind the game to I mean come on a scientific slightly realistic reason for having superpowers come on this is clearly the best also to add on to that you even get to have two powers at one point in the game plus you get to to decide what kind of person you want to be I mean you can be evil or good and the best part is that cole changes along with the karmic rank I mean what's cooler than that plus the thought of having superpowers among a world of other people who also has them makes you feel special but not too special also the game rewards you in the end with different endings depending on the ultimate choice you make plus if you complete the game on good and evil you get kuo and nixs powers so yeah.

Chrono trigger: things you do in the game actually matter with multiple endings and characters you actually care about
Earthbound: the goofy random humor added sets you up for a pull into the darkside of the game without consent then acts like nothing happened.

Arguably the best game of ALL TIME EVER! Is Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. It is listed as the top game ever made on many greater games ever made list. It was so far beyond it-s time and broke what people thought was possible in a video game. But cheers for diversity in gaming. Even though most would consider LOZ Ocarina of Time as the great game ever made, I can appreciate other people-s views on greatness in video games.

out of all the games i have played that were in this debate i can only say that you were right about portal 2 being the best puzzle game & that you were wrong about half life being better than halo 2, i have played all halos except for that one and i have genuinely enjoyed all of the halo games except for halo wars & the multiplayer in halo 4 & get this, im not such a big fan of half life -gasps- so i'd have to say halo 2 is the better fps.

Pffft, I hate how Mari picked SSB. Best shooter in my opinion should have been n64 007 goldeneye. Best rpg; pick your favorite zelda game. Metroid or castlevania Best platformer. Best puzzle goes to pokemon puzzle league. Best sport, fight night boxing or forza. Smash is a party game so Best fighter goes to mar vs cap or street fighter.

Final Fantasy? I like the Pokemon games better. And not the original Red and Blue, even though they were a revolution at the time, but the newer Pokemon games because they are objectively better in any way. Better graphics, sound and gameplay with many new Pokemon and mechanics.
