It could very well be the best scene in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story- Darth Vader violently pursuing rebels as they try to escape with the Death Star plans. But, as Director Gareth Edwards reveals, the scene fans saw in theaters almost didn't happen

This is late, but I wish a detail had been added to the movie.
In the beginning, Lyra says - You will never win- to Krennic, then shoots him. However, this barely wounds him though he is wearing no armour. I would love to see her do some damage to him before dying needlessly. That damage could come into play in saving Jyn later. I propose Lyra shoots Krennic and hits him in the left hand, blasting off his index finger. She dies as usual. Twenty years later, Jyn faces Krennic on Scarif and he asks who she is. She says the usual line -Jyn Erso, daughter of Galen and Lyra, you've lost-, then Cassian hits Krennic's right hand holding the blaster, injuring it. There is a wrestle and the blaster drops to the floor. The three of them fight hand to hand until Krennic picks up the blaster with his left, but cannot fire as he is missing the index finger. Jyn and Cassian overpower him and transmit the plans. This would be way more poetic that the entire Erso family repeats the same line and all play a part in the downfall of the death star. I feel that Lyra basically didnt do anything in the movie and she might as well have been dead like Galen said she was.

Who would've thought that between the two characters people have obsessed over the course of 40 years, have tattoos of, spend thousands to dress up as, wait a week in line just to have a chance to see them first again.
Would ever want to see the most nadass, intimidating and acary guy, doing a scary badass ads scene finally. Never got to see him being intimidating other than standing around and choking people without touching them?
I'm not a SW fan, but this moment. Just him standing there is a mivie moment for the ages!

As much as I love the scene. it's basically fan-fic on the same level as that old Batman v. Predator clip. Instead of connecting -cool visuals-, they should've come up with a story that connects -cool narrative elements- and makes sense throughout. Oh, and leave out those uncanny valley versions of Tarkin and Leia. those were total show-stoppers for me.

There's a pattern with star wars. Anytime someone who's a big fan is in charge of a star wars project. Filoni, favreau, edwards. they nail it. Everytime someone does a star wars film and they r just average fans or not fans at all. it gets botched or doesn't feel like star wars

Never before has a scene over whelmed me as much as this, Rogue one is easily one of the most underrated films out there. Even if your not a star wars fan there's so much to be appreciated. The way Edwards describes how he put together a scene/movie is genius.

They should pay Gareth Edwards any amount of money it would take to make him a part of any future Star Wars projects. The original trilogy sequels and Solo were unwatchable, woke garbage. Rogue 1 and The Mandalorian are the saving grace of the SW universe.

Don't act so surprised, Your Highness. You weren't on any mercy mission this time. Several transmissions were beamed to this ship by Rebel spies. I want to know what happened to the plans they sent you.
Continuity error there.

The female main character in this movie is way more likeable than Rey imo!
It was really sad when she died at the beach! :(
The Vader scenes were so awesome! Better than everything the sequel trilogy showed us.

Ngl, this is probably in the top 10 scenes in star wars in all of the films. The way that it's shot, the fact that it bridges two eras and answers questions, it's pretty much a perfect scene.

I think that was one of the best (if not the best) scens in the entire movie so it is great that they managed to shot it despite the fact that they didnt have much time left.
