Tom Cruise is famous for doing his own stunts, and he's back in Mission: Impossible - Fallout with what might just be the most dangerous one yet--spinning a helicopter around while diving down over a waterfall. Cruise learned to fly at Airbus's base in Texas -- so WIRED's Jack Stewart went to find out what it takes

You critiquing Tom Cruise, not so sure about that. There is a video out about the behind the scenes filming of those action scenes. Mr. Cruise spent several months in the mountains training and adapting to the elevations and mountains. I believe he received his training at the factory by factory pilots/test pilots. He-s listed on the registry as having a rotorwing rating in addition to all his fixed wing ratings. All his time is turbine. How much turbine time do you have in high performance helicopter? Stick to flight instructing.

He's definitely a high risk taker. Some feel he has guts. Some just think he is nuts (figuratively speaking because of the types of stunts that he does. I see him as a guy who likes to conquer things, like -fear-? Anyway, I love his Mission Impossible movies! The ones he did himself are the absolute best ones. Not just because of his stunts, but also they are just Grade A done. They are very exciting, very humorous, and he takes us to -James Bond- types of locations which always makes things far more interesting.

To have trained to the degree that the Helicopter Instructor Pilot, the Insurance Underwriters and the FAA cleared Mr. Cruise to be allowed to fly this profile as the Pilot Flying is testimony to his absolute Professionalism and dedication to getting it absolutely right for the Director, fans and audiences!
This is the true measure of a Professional Helicopter Pilot!

No matter what any exaggerative goon says, Tom Cruise-s edge is not Scientology but rather his IQ mixed with quick motor skills and the willingness to die to get what he wants on camera. He knows what he wants and puts in the training hours to get it.

Tom Cruise is one talented dude. But if i was getting paid 20 million for a film of course i would put in the 8 hour a day for 3 months studding just to pass the theory exams heck 1500 people do it a year for way way less

Boycotting Cruises Movies because he is in a Scientology cult that hurts others and he helps fund that cult so If I buy his movies or rentals I am culpable because I would be helping to fund a hurtful cult. So no more.

There are a number of other incredible action stars; however, Cruise seems to do it all and seems to be the entire package. Whether on the ground, in the air or in between, he appears he can do it all extremely well.

As Tom is getting older or younger as he looks more handsome day by day, he is really pushing the stunts to a whole new level. No one in Hollywood comes close to this guy. That's what we call Legend.

I wonder how much those rigs cost, who built them, and who and hwo did they manufacture them. It must be some task and take some super ingenious craft custom building team. very very impressive.

Christopher Nolan and Tom Cruise should do a film together.
The amount of mind-blowing, universe collapsing, epic stunts in it will be mind-blowing, universe collapsing, epic stunts.
