The thing about Ed Kemper-s way of speaking that made it unique wasn-t so much his actual voice as much as his manner of speech, the words he chose, his extremely considered way of delivering the point he was making, that was what made Ed Kemper-s speech stand out. Capturing him wasn-t as much about doing the voice as it was about imitating the pace of his speech and using the same words he used. Kemper is a very smart person and he spoke in a very intelligent way as well. He has this quality where it seems as though everything he says was rehearsed when it wasn-t. He was just able to so clearly convey the message of what he was saying in real time to a degree that most can-t do.

I met Temple Gradin, she came to speak at a state convention. She was friendly, but very exacting about time.
She greeted us, but the second she was scheduled to speak she stopped and she stopped on the dime of her allotted time.
I read her books. A fascinating person. I'm particularly intrigued that she thinks in pictures, as I do, too, and it affects me, in that I'm constantly changing directions when I talk because the images influence a change in topic, making it difficult for follow my tangents.

I also feel that the reason for the slight difference in Cameron Brittons take on Ed Kemper is that Ed Kemper was being interviewed by a journalist or a reporter. Where as in Mind Hunter he is being interviewed by FBI agents so I think the approach is different because of why and how the Cameron Brittons Ed Kemper was talking. Its a difference in Telling a Story and Recounting a past experience. I think. Maybe thats how the director proposed the pacing of the dialogue to help build the drama more in the words.

Erik Singer: I am so impressed by your presentation of this material. It would have been easy for a snide or mocking tone to have crept into your remarks, especially when dealing with the less savory characters here. You are always scholarly and respectful, no matter who you're presenting.

I'd really, really love to see a breakdown of Cold Mountain. because no mere mortal has ready access to how peeps actually spoke back then (but it sounds both impressive and realistic to me. I'm just unsure whether I fell for a lie, lol)

This is great but. It's less of a -critiquing famous performances- and more of a -simping famous performances--. What could they have done better? I already know they're awesome. I wanna hear how you would've changed it

I love this little commentary that the clips add while Mr Singer is talking. Like, he calmly explains about prosthetics and how they affect the actor's way of speaking and at the same time you hear -Well done, Columbo- -

I haven't watched -The Crown- (although I want to) but the real Queen's accent has changed over the years and general RP even more so. It has softened and become less clipped and less posh (not a technical term-.

Why can some adults learn to speak other languages without an accent, while others cannot or will not? Are they not trying, or can they really not hear the difference in pronunciation?

Why is it so hard for non-Australians to do an Australian accent? I feel like Australians in general can mimic other accents quite easily but nobody can seem to do ours very well
