Rest my Queen, Rest
Even Monarchs need close their eyes
Men and women have gave and lost their lives for you
Every soul of the ancient world
More admired that you would know and even more missed as their everlasting light turned to eternal darkness
Be they servant or mage
Each follow their own path forged by you
Run by a figure destined to be that of legend
The world now in peril
He wakes from darkest depths of the void
Envious of those that rule in what is in his eyes, his rightful rule
Endless dreams collide in wonderous visions
Married to her insanity and lust for power
Perversion of what could have been but did not come to reality
In this those that remain from days of yore mournfully recount standing at the event horizon of a legion of hungering evil
Rest now, released from a tormenting curse
Every queen must eventually relinquish their title, for no one can truly rule forevermore.

When I listen to this, I imagine the 12th Doctor (old one) who travel through the Space & Time to Azeroth to prevent Azshara from becoming that monstrosity and stop N'zoth to corrupt her & Xavius. Battle between Doctor & Xavius, Azshara just watch then give thanks to Doc' + Doc' used his ability to put future events into Azshara's mind just for her to see what she become.
And get her in his Tardis, spent some time together, then bring her back and even she saw everything from Doc' she yet do the job with N'zoth 'cause Time musn't be rewritten 'cause of future Of Azeroth. :D

This is so beautiful. The music department really did a phoenomenal job of assuring that it gives the feeling of bringing the listener back to a faraway age of Azeroth's history, a time when the Kaldorei empire stretched from shore to shore of Kalimdor. A glory the kaldorei or all elvenkind will likely never know again.
And the sense of sorrow it brings. All because of Azshara's evil ambitions.

The music is magic. Again. There is no other franchise where the art teams are so incredibly inspired like in Warcraft. The actors too. They keep on delivering year after year countless hours of music, imagery, stories, characters. Don't forget though, Azshara is no fallen angel - she had always been a selfish tyrant who kept on selling her people again and again to fuel ambitions.

Honestly, I was quite shocked when Russell Bower left Blizzard. I was a bit hesitant on how the music would go in the future with him no longer there. But I am truly captivated so far with all the music they have been putting out. This was a great piece. I hope they add more vocal choir into the future pieces. Nightsong and Invincible were such great pieces.

Listening to this really wants me to see an expansion where I can go back in time and walk around and observe the ancient Kaldorei Empire.
Because if we can go back to Draenor again in a different timeline, why not to an alternative Azeroth where the Kaldorei Empire is still alive and remains in its prime.

You know I crap on the Alliance & The Night Elves alot. But I really do feel bad for them, their whole story is just the pain of long life & lost, To live so long and to lose so much is indeed a heavy burden on the soul and with what happened in the War of Thorns was probably the last straw.

This is great and the artwork is amazing. Great choice. I always enjoy the hard work and level of detail you put into your content. This song really is a work of art. There are small similarities in this piece and others that you have posted from 8. 0 Theme addon for sharing.

I stopped playing BFA in February. and I had been warned. And here I was with my demon hunter boy. hearing this for the first time. I sat there for nearly an hour and cried. Thank you Athelarius. :> Because I obviously needed to cry more. ;)

Travel to an age where once glorious and powerful elven empires or kingdoms once ruled only to see them all be washed away by a cataclysmic event which results in a near extinction of all elven kind

The tragedy of the HIghborne is so real in this music. so many suffered because of Azshara's selfishness, she sacrificed everything to her greed for power.
reply

So many emotions and expressions ringing through this: sorrow, tragedy, heroism and even a sense of hope through the pain. So beautiful.
reply

I must say Azshara is one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen. This score maybe amplifies this feeling.

This song is so nostalgic and it causes me a lot of feeling despite its real meaning
Blizzard did it very well

Would have really interested me what would have happened if Azshara and Arthas, The Lich King would have met

6: 30 there it is! Thank you, Athelarius! This is the perfect video and tribute to Warcraft-s greatest villain.
reply

Really glad this didn't kill her off tbh
Hoping she plays some role in the night elf story going forward!

reply

It's so beautiful and sad. This makes me hate Azshara so much more for what she did to her own people.
reply

Azshara Naga/N'zoth' patch was a waste in my opnion however the music and design was on point as always.
