THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN by Mark Twain - FULL AudioBook Huckleberry Finn is one of my great literary loves. I read it for the first time when I was about 12 years old and have read it many times ever since. At the age of 44, I just got through reading it aloud to my 12 year old daughter and she loved it too. I’m listening to your reading to put myself to sleep tonight. You gave Huck the same voice I’ve always heard in my head, soft spoken, sweetly southern, and wise beyond his years. It’s like listening to a beloved friend tell me a bedtime story. Thank you for this.

Just finished this beautifully read (and written) masterpiece. Were the author alive today, he would not have included such a deluge of offensive terms, I would hope, but would instead mine the lexicon for ameliorative terms, since it was nearly always the case that the term was referring to people who were helping the narrator or others. I wonder if Mr. Clemens ever knew, or knew of, Jim Beckwourth, who was a gifted and clever individual whose father, Sir Jennings Beckwith, had freed legally more than once. They lived in the area at the time, and the painter, James Carroll Beckwith, a cousin to Jim, lived in Hannibal and Elmira, NY, and also painted Twain's portrait at least twice. Anyway, thanks for the great adventure. Loved your Carolina mellifluousness.

This has been my favorite fiction book since I first read it at 10 or 12 years old. I so wanted to be like Huck and run away down the Mississippi River. And have the adventures of he and Tom Sawyer.

Pretty fair reading, but I wish someone from the Deep South would do a one for this. You’d get a little better pronunciation. Some of us remember older folks still using some of this terminology.

So good! I just finished reading and I'm a college sophomore. An absolute classic of storytelling and a statement on the moral of society. Definitely one of the best novels I've ever written.

I love it when Huck describes rafting through the river side towns and especially the sight while passing St. Louis, too vivid i can picture it and also when he was at the farm, with Buck

Read the book. Exercise your mind. Listening to some one else read it robs you of a valuable experience.
