A CHRISTMAS CAROL - FULL AudioBook by Charles Dickens. The Man who Invented Christmas tells the story of Charles Dickens' desperate attempt to write the story that would put his name on the literary map and dig him out of debt. This story has done infinitely more than he would have imagined. There is very nearly, if not more than 100 versions of this story told; stage performances, readings, radio plays, movies.

I read this book for the first time in 8th grade. Since it was a requirement I didn't quite enjoy it as much because I hadn't truly learned to appreciate the complexities and messages and was more interested in just reading through it and getting my work done as quick as possible. Fifteen years later, it's one of my top three favorite stories ever written

Every year, my city’s rep theater does an adaptation of this and for our family tradition, we see it every year and it never gets old.
Also when I was in 7th grade, my class had to read this book and everyone had trouble reading it! However, since I had seen the show every December, I had no problem understanding the story!

Thank you for providing this recording! I had only just realized recently that I had never read the actual book, and it was about time! The richness of Dickens's language combined with this absolutely spot-on reading is an amazing experience! One which I'll be repeating often!

Mom, dad, my brother, and I watched A Christmas Carol every Christmas with all lights out and only our beautiful tree lights on. To this day i still watch it at Christmas. There are so many wonderful values to be learned from this movie.

Uh, oh. This was always my favorite audio version. What happened to the beginning Instead of it starting the tale at the beginning, it now begins with the first spirit, and at the end the audio is just silence.

No, this is a decent amateur reading, (I have edited this response) It is not bad, but there are better. Upon a second listen, I stand by my original premise that this is a decent amateur reading.

The only thing I do not like about this book / audiobook is the ending. I think it would of been better expanding on how the three spirits changed him and his behavior (to become a better person.

OH, that I could be consistently like the converted Scrooge! OH, that my heart and resources were as hearty, loving, generous, and Godly. Oh, that I could be as selfless, joyful, and droll!

Stave 1 is missing. It’s starting part way through stave 2. I’ve listened to this for the last several years and never had this happen before.

Dickens’s genius in which he wrote the story, created such huge iconic characters, had it illustrated and got published in just TWO MONTHS.

I love the introduction. Marley is dead. Like dead dead. Dead as a door nail. Why a door nail I don't know. But Marley is dead. It's hilarious.

Oh my god I love this story you must be very happy for your succeed but in the next one could you put more pictures in the next one

I love Dickens' descriptive prowess. With all the film adaptations of this that have been made, some of the imagination gets lost.
