The Best Ever Version and adaptation made! 1995 - Beautifully and Perfectly done. Magnificent actors with their very high level of excellence in portraying all their roles individually and collaborating as group performance overall is superb! -
The soundtrack and costumes were masterly done and magnificent which bring us to the regency era enormously and undeniably the best and great experience and feelings while watching this masterpiece interpretation of the great Ms. Jane Austen literary masterpiece of all time. -
Loving it so much and watching repeatedly the whole series almost everyday! Well done to all and hope to find similar story in the near future! -

I have seen all of these period dramas and much more (that are not listed here) and I like them all. But for me North and South will unbelievably remain my favourite. Unbelievable because initially, the title itself was not appealing to me and I didn't expect it to be so good. But after watching the entire series in one go, I couldn't get enough of it and had to watch it again and again.

Stumbled upon a series called Lost in Austen, another version of Pride and Prejudice where a lady swaps places with Elizabeth and goes back into the past. I really enjoyed it, like the lady said, she messes up the whole story and has to fix it according to the book, funny.

Little Dorrit this production gives you a slice of Dickens as though it was written yesterday - you think you are back there with him. I loved N&S, P&P. W&P puts modern people into period costumes and that is not convincing enough.

Little Dorrit spell bounding, Jane Eyre loved when I was little, North and South i feel in love with, P & P a classic- I am a period romantic movie/serie junky. I love them all! I wish there was more since I think I seen them all!

I just watched Jane Eyre last night- please don't let this trailer deter you! It's really fun- Toby Stephens and Ruth Wilson are great to watch. Also- Dr Thorne is a good short series to add to this list.

Little Dorrit is one of my favorites. Charles Dickens creates such amazing characters and intertwines all of them in a way you don't see coming. Mystery, satire, comedy, and romance mixed in to one.

The American mini series North and South with Patrick Swayze and Lesley Anne Down is still one of my all time favourites.

North & South is my number 1. Love it and seen it so many times.
Also enjoyed Cranford and Return to Cranford. but they are a bit more slow in pace but still a good watch.
