Now, I have some questions. I'm sure you also have to do some, let's say international signs, sort of like charades when you speak to a non sign language speaker. And they probably do the same in return. So my question is: has somebody done a sign, well, gesture, wanting to say something, using charades and ended up saying something bad in sign language? And if so, which kind of gestures and how often it happens?
I'm a person who communicates using my hands a lot, we Mediterraneans are very loud and very expressive when we speak. So, I could get in trouble easily with that sort of thing. Gesticulating something accompanying my words that in sign language might be read differently.
Well then, before I spoke about my love for languages, so my next question is regarding that. I'm curious about your method in learning other languages. I'm sure that there must be some deaf polyglots out there, and there's gotta be one of those born deaf. So, my question is if you tried to learn some other languages and if so, which are your methods to do so? Cause, one important thing about languages, a key thing to learn that helps a lot when you are learning languages is, the phonetics, you guys that can read the lips you'll see that phonetics really have an influence when we speak and there so the lips movement. This is something I'm really curious about because I was practically born bilingual, I started speaking Spanish when I was about three years old, sort of fluently, I starded to say some things in Spanish before, and I could definitely understand it perfectly, but I say three years old cause that's when I started kindergarten and one of the subjects was Spanish. Like me, there's hundreds of people in Catalonia, we are a bilingual country. So, when someone learns sign language they probably have to learn both Catalan and Spanish respecting sign languages.
And now I would like to say that communicating with people is easy, no matter the language they speak, no matter if their deaf or blind. if you put the effort in it, I'm sure you'll be able to understand each other. I've worked as a tourism entertainer and I was able to communicate with an islandic and a german little girls for instance, that didn't know how to speak English. And the secret of it is that, an 80% of the communication, more or less, is non-verbal (gestures, face expressions. Then, about a 15%, paraverbal (volume, rhythm, intonation. And finally, just a 5%, verbal (the words we say, languages)

schools should change cursive writing lessons with sign language. I never needed to write cursive and knowing sign language is much more helpful. I don't know if it's just in the Philippines that forcibly teaches elem. students cursive or what but I really do prefer learning sign language.

I wish I knew how to sign, but I live in Europe so ASL would probably not make a lot of sense for the deaf people in my country.
