Sharks are super misunderstood and very rarely bite if you interact with them in a respectful manner. A lot of people who have been 'bitten' by sharks were actually scraped by the rough skin of the shark passing by them; our brains often catastrophize instead of analyze. For instance, if you looked up shark bite photos online, half of those wounds are scrape wounds that only look like bites because the skin has tooth-like patterns.
Sure, some people do get attacked, and some get very deep proper bites, but most people are only going to get hurt by things like the rough skin and not respecting the space of the animal.

Still one of the most disappointing things buzzfeed has promoted. The framing of sharks as mindless killers is irresponsible at best, and downright untrue. Whoever accepted this sponsorship should be ashamed.

Sharks actually don't purposely hurt humans. If they bite you or went after you, they probably thought you were a seal considering they can't see
