5 Reasons Why Iron Man 1 Blew Everyone's Mind RosieSquall: I think the main reason it blew everyone away was because by that time we were used to mediocre Marvel movies. The XMen franchise was meh, Fantastic Four was horrible, Spiderman had a poor conclusion and I don't think anyone was expecting Iron Man to be any good. I mean, before the MCU blew up, few people knew who Iron Man even was. For Marvel to use a relatively unknown IP and turn it into an empire, was astounding.
But hey, that's what good writing, good directing, excellent acting and faith in your IP produce. DC could learn a lot from Marvel.

Don-t forget the only other super hero on par with this movie was Nolan-s dark knight. They both boosted eachother back in 08. I remember being around 11-12 and loving both movies for the same and different reasons
Ex: the both made superhero-s realistic and gave it a tone like (what if this was in OUR world type of real)
Difference was dark knight went darker and more gritty realism and MCU was more flashy comic bookie with witty jokes

When The Avengers came out I hadn-t watched any of the movies leading to it. I didn-t even know it existed. My older brother who was in HS at the time took me to hooters then to the movies. Captain America was instantly my favorite hero and I backtracked to watch the other phase 1 films. Still to this day Chris Evan-s portrayal of Steve Rogers is my favorite part of the MCU

I love how I can still feel grounded in reality when watching a talking raccoon and a tree fighting a purple alien in space with magic and guns. Every single character feels real in the universe. They get hurt, lose friends and family, feel anger and fight with each other. As much as I like DC, I think they still didn't quite manage to replicate that.

Another MCU themed vid completely ignores the 1st MCU film that set up the MCU as we know it and that was Edward Norton-s Incredible Hulk. the post credit scene is literally RDJ as Tony Stark setting up the Avengers. making a third of this well done video incorrect

Bro i just noticed a detail in iron man 1 that i think one of the main reason for tony to put red and yellow as colour of the suit is red indicates the anger and yellow indicates the betryal and in the nxt scene he goes the village and destroys his equipment

Ok, we all know that Marvel doesn't do anything without a reason. So, what does the -APL- logo on the bottom of the cup mean? That's clearly something because why else put a scene in a movie that's focussed on someone drinking coffee?

Would Ironman been different without RDJ?
Yes.
Would it have failed without RDJ?
Who knows, there are a lot of actors that could have carried the movie.
Would most movies be different with different actors?
Yes

At the end where he says, -I am Iron man-. That was key, superheroes always had secret identities, this was a major change that had not been seen before. I think that freed up the old formula to go in new directions.

Gosh after all this time, I didn-t know that Iron Man is the first MCU movie. I thought Captain America was the first cause it took place in WW2 and the title was The First Avenger.
