The fight in End Game makes no sense anyway. Thor with his new axe was able to deflect a full blast from Thanos with all of the stones, and sunk the blade into his chest, almost killing him. Yet in End Game, Thanos, with no gauntlet or stones, easily defeated Thor with his axe, and Iron Man, and Captain America at the same time. I admit it made for a good fight, but physically makes no sense.
Perhaps they could have beaten him badly, forcing him to call his armies out of the ship, which then leads to the scene of all of the snapped people appearing for the final fight against Thanos and his army.

When Thanos smashed Cap in the face, he killed him. He killed almost everyone that came at him. When he used the time stone, it reversed not only Vision, but the others as well. Banner in the Hulkbuster got fused into the stone mountain face, Rhodey got crushed like an empty beer can, Black Panther got smashed aside as well. They were all ok after Thanos reversed time to get the mind stone. That-s how I figured it anyways. No way Rogers is waking up the same as before he got hit with that right cross. He-s still just a human. If he did somehow survive, he-d be different.

There really is no 2014 Thanos is stronger than 2018s. Thanos in Infinity War only wanted the stones, think about it besides the battle on Titan he never really full out berserk mode on ppl. 2014 Thanos does not have the emotional connection that the 2018 one does. If anything the 2014 Thanos is severely pissed because they killed the future him for completing what he sought out to do so instead of killing half he wanted to shred everything down to an atom. They were in his way so he used all of his strength

I don't know what's wrong with the characteristics.
In Comics we see that THANOS survives extreme powerful scream of BLACK BOLT which destroyed whole attilan city. And he literally shut down BlackBolt's MOUTH with his BARE HANDS.
Now if you understand how powerful is Black bolt then you must know how powerful hands do Thanos have. Even without infinity gauntlet.
In movies, they always exaggerate the scenes and stories in such a way that they forget the real powers of the character.

He never used his entire power to hit anyone because he always wanted the stones to decide who dies. Except vision, he didn't kill anyone by hand because vision isn't a biological being. He's a machine. Thanos always hit to only injure but not kill. Of course, how does he know how hard to hit each of them because they're all of different strengths, but maybe he has a sense of that too?

this theory should guess the aspect of physics on the control of power. If Thanos knew he was gonna punch the shield, then you generate enough power to destroy the shield. Why crush a ant with a sledgehammer when i can use my shoe or finger? Why would Thanos have to throw a punch enough to destroy the shield when he punched Cap in the face? He would pull the punch a lil bit.

I think that in Infinity War when Thanos actually punched Cap he probably died just there and by the time Wanda destroyed mind stone but when Thanos used the time stone to reverse time and bring back the other stone Cap got alive again.
May be I am wrong but I think that this was only the scene.
Please correct me if I made a mistake in understanding the situation.

there was a theory too that in infinity war when thanos punched cap right in the head, cap died but was resurrected after thanos used the time stone when he brought vision back from pieces. thats why natasha and bruce was able to escape through the rocks and roots that thanos put them into. idk if its true but that was a theory i stumbled upon a while ago.
