This short is a FAIL for me, and I can't put my finger on exactly why. Is it cramming too much backstory into one cryptic conversation Is it hybridizing different animation styles with live actors Or is it the swords against guns silliness I don't know. But I think the filmmaker would benefit from watching less animation and sci-fi, or maybe no animation and sci-fi for a while.

200 years after humanity has abandoned the real world for a digital one, the system's most talented security agent is forced out of retirement to recruit and lead a team of talented warriors to eliminate a threat from a world no one has seen for centuries. The real world. YEAH. I'm sure everyone totally got that from watching this. Awful.

WOW! This is extraordinary! The acting, writing, and production values are top-notch! Despite this being a short film, it has Hollywood level special effects with a compelling story! I've seen better short films here on DUST compared to the 2 hours of crap that Hollywood dishes out in theaters! We want a sequel! Keep up the fantastic work! :)

Is this where the expanse is eventually heading. instead of Earth versus Mars versus belters we now have Humanity versus transhuman And having Cara from the expanse cast was a piece of Genius from a casting standpoint. This needs to be proof-of-concept for a major film. All the boxes got checked on this one
reply

Cara Gee! I knew that was her! She has a distinctive diction and a powerful presence that are utterly ravishing. The visuals here are also quite unique and memorable. It would be a good story to tell fully.
reply

Looks like another proof-of-concept short for a full-length film or series. That can get pretty tiresome. But Dust has set a fairly decent bar for quality, and even on its own terms, this is not up to that bar.
reply

I'm sorry but no matter how talented or how gorgeous Cara Gee is, this short is just horrible. I just need a good story that's it, I have absolutely no idea what is going on here
reply

Wake up folks, this is TransHumanism. Problem is once plugged in we'll be unable to unplug. Saddled by A. I. surveillance 24/7/365. Sort of like checking into a Roach Motel.
reply

Wow I wish in me, that one day all of these good films get a secondary part or a series
But that's just dreaming, like the videos from Dust.
It's beautiful

reply

Wasn't really comprehensible until I read the explanation in the notes. As such, the film doesn't stand up to watching it from scratch with no information beforehand.
reply

2: 50. Why do they always separate. The injured one would have made more of an impact w/the support of the other. And might have actually survived. So dumb.
reply

Hmmm not for me, sorry. Very beautiful though! May need more weight on the robot / humans: they seem too light for what they appear to be made of

This is brilliant and unique but I'm reminded of Tron, Dune, Aeon Flux, Shogun, THX-1138 and others. Thanks for this wonderful art!
reply

Exceptional short! Best I've seen in many months, possibly much longer. I hope to see more of this intriguing story very soon
reply

Can't wait for this to go bigger like other projects I've seen on DUST. Keep up the hard work everybody, it IS noticed!
reply

So hard to choose a best Dust short. this one is. almost. damn.
Thinking back, so many great movies. can't choose.

Well I didn't get what that was about at all. If I hadn't read the brief on it I wouldn't have understood it.
reply

Loved it.
Wouldn't mind if this would be the 3rd Destiny franchise part called The Origin of Exo. ;)

reply

Man, I gotta quit swallowing the red pill. I'm seeing the grandiose delusions of a digital humanity.
reply

That was so captivating. I really got into it. (What was there. I can't wait to see more.
reply

Stunning. looks like it will become a brilliant series. Can't wait to see it unfold.
reply

THIS WAS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Luv'd IT! I need this to be a series even if it's only monthly!
reply

does anyone else gets metal gear rising revengeance vibes from this So cool
reply

Like a haiku or minimalist architecture, saying so much with so little.
reply

Like so many of these shorts, I want this to be a full production series!
reply

Not really feeling this one but I can appreciate all hard work put in to it.
reply

I am new to this world. What genre are these highly CGIed shorts called
reply

The best compliment I can give is I would like to see more; much more.
reply

I hope, this is'nt the end. Actually, is that Matrix reloaded
reply

Certainly different took me a while to absorb it. loved it.
reply

I can see this premise as a full-length movie. Well done!
reply

This looks to be the early, early work of The Asylum
reply

I don't usually like this type of stuff but this was good.
reply

As much as I do like Cara Gee This video was not very good
reply

The ending reminded me of 'Hoshino' with Ana Arkana.
