The point of this short is subtle but enormous. Nothing refers to the torment of contrasting success in endeavor, scentific in this example, and the life dedicated to it's pursuit; and the lost opportunity to have a life of one's own. The telling point is where the protagonist makes the statement, I enjoyed meeting my friend's children - those words gives rise to the only emotion she's willing to portray to the panel of interviewers, one of bitter regret. For the rest she only feels nothing - hence the repeated, candid response.
To have succeeded so well to ensure humanities survival as a species, honored and celebrated the world over - but for what To do so to the detriment, to the nullification of her own lineage, gives rise to the question, Why did I save them all, if there will be nothing left of me and mine There is no sweetness to salve a wound like this, hence, Nothing indeed.
The cloudy eyes are a strong metaphor, though nothing is mentioned of her sight being affected. Somewhat poetically: Eyes clouded, there's nothing left to see if there's nothing left of me.
An extremely individualistic sentiment to carry, and should appeal to anyone living in the modern age. 4 stars.

the idea is of symmetry, or Supersymmetry, where a mirror image of all matter exists. The problem is that physics asks, where is all the antimatter and so he argument starts, with junk like Dark Matter thrown in just for fun, and where, perhaps, we exist because of a great IMBALANCE in this universe. If the universe was symmetrical, perhaps it would be crystalized and life could not emerge. Do we exist because there is NO BALANCE
-- The idea of a balance between a god of good and one of evil entered western culture through the Persian conquest of neoBabylon, and their financing of the second temple. That is why Hollywood output is so full of it.

Mmmh. In a way beautiful but. I agree with many of the complaints: the sound is a problem. The music is too loud and that sometimes prevent the listeners to understand parts of the dialogue. There are some distorted moments and one moment when a compression is applied in a weird way. Sound in space (the sound of the spacecraft) is so unscientific, I can't believe people still don't understand how annoying it is to hear that plus. If she travelled 40 years in space, I presume at high speed, everyone she knew on Earth might be dead. Time dilation. simple fact.

Confused about the ending. Was she on the parallel earth The clothes of the interviewers, that one girl walking barefoot and them using an analog tape recorder 40 years into the future - that didn't make sense. But then why would a parallel earth celebrate a human from another planet as the human of the century
And why did her crew bring back one tiny plant only When did they go blind If they were blind upon reaching the planet, how did they even know what the planet was capable of

I enjoyed this film, but the science was horrible. Solar panels are useless unless we are close to a star. In addition, there are over 1 trillion stars and possibly just as many solar systems in this galaxy. There is no need to go to another galaxy which is many orders of magnitude further away than any star in this galaxy. If you’re going to do science, get the science, right.

There are so many films, including this one, spoiled by music which is louder than the dialogue. For the hard of hearing, like me, it is a problem. I caught so many words, but without subtitles I can't say for sure what this film was about. It would be nice if film makers considered everyone in their audience, rather than a select number.

not perfect, but for what is presented here this was pretty well done, the actress really did a solid performance, kudos to the cinematography as well, very interstellar-lite obvs; the violin was a bit too much for some of the vocal audio; this definitely left us wanting more, which is a sign of a job well done =]

For the timeline thing, she could simply be doing an interview years or even decades after she returned home. In hyper sleep (cryogenic freezing) she would not have aged, so could have left at 28 years old, and returned to be say 30, then 60 or so years later they interview her.

Great job. No subtitles available. I've made subtitles in English, French and Spanish but my links are banned. If needed, find the link Follow us on Fbook in the description of this video, find this video on the page and read my commentary.

This was gorgeous! The music paired with the visuals was incredibly moving. At the end, I felt all the emotions simmering beneath the surface as the astronaut answered the panel's final questions. Really remarkable work!

What caused her to lose her sight Was it the brightness of the new world they found, or the overall brightness of the wall itself What type of life did they find This story needs continued.

Surely she would have liked a normal family life. This leaves more questions than answers. So we assume they colonized the new planet. Her parents must have been up in age. Any regrets No nothing.

I missed parts of the dialogue, even replayed it several times on max volumn and couldn't understand. Can't say I like it when the words couldn't be heard. Wish there'd been subtitles.

I generally don't like 4: 3 ratio and/or black & white but I gotta say this was well made and emotional. I especially liked the other Earth shots that looks like exposed film negative.

Well, i was expecting everything to go into negative at the end and show the woman was from the light world and everything was in the light universe and they came to ours.

Extremely well done. I was captivated by the very mystery of a snippet of future space travel. It gave off hopeful vibrations.

I was waiting for the absolute plot twist as of how she lost her vision, but I guess I have to fill it with my own imagination.

Nonsense. Whoever made this knows little or next to nothing about astrophysics and cosmology. But the title is suitable. nothing.

A little context would be nice.
Too many unanswered questions. Too many ways this could possibly go.
I'm SMH here.

Two good things about this: 1) Title tells you everything contained in the film. 2) Very short.
