I started out with FS98, and got every new one till FSX. Still waiting to get a new PC to handle the new one. Kind of waiting for at least the RTX 3060s or 3080s to go down in price when later models take their place and lower their price tags. It doesn't help that the recent chip shortage kept the pricing up. I'm currently on a GTX970 video card on a quad core i7-6700 CPU - 3. 40GHz with 16GB RAM - Great for 2016 technology and running FSX, but not even close for this new version.

There was also Microsoft Flight in mid-2010s. It was marketed as a game-as-a-service. thing aimed at a more casual audience but was quite poorly received by the community that preferred the more robust flight model and the modability of MSFS X. Arguably not a -proper- member of the series, I believe it could still be mentioned, if only as an explanation for the massive gap between MSFS X and MSFS 2020.

I Grew up playing FS10 and man was i shocked to see how it used to look as from my memory it had better graphics but thats just my young self's memory lol.

Excellent! I've been flying it since the Sublogic version. I still have a copy of Flight Simulator 1. 0 on 5. 25- floppy still in the wrapper.
