Single-player video games offer many distinct challenges and rewards. But sometimes on the road to victory, things just don't go right. Here's some mishaps and disasters only people who love single player will understand

Worst thing that happened to me, went on a gaming binge, total of probably 15ish hours spent going back to DOOM 2016. Went through the story, found every collectible, walked through the final boss door... power goes out. when it eventually comes back, i load the game, and my save is corrupted. >_>
Oh, or when you want to 100% a game, but the devs come out with a 1 time seasonal achievement, before you played the game.

Respawn glitching- being reloaded into a doomed position; either unable to move, high area (fall damage), or in a horde of enemies.
Especially painful on extended boards- i.e. player created GTA5 Parkour stunt races, where you respawn after a checkpoint & the respwan is glitched into an asset... and these boards can take HOURS to pass sometimes

When you find out about a cool new game and it looks amazing and then you find out it's just a cgi trailer and the game basically just started development and realize nowadays itll take 7-10 YEARS before it will release. Not sure if this even fits in here with this video but just wanted to say it anyways. Games take way to long now ugh

The worst thing that ever happened to me was when I was playing one of the Final Fantasy games on PSX...I was on disc 3 of the game and just wandering along towards my next objective when the disc literally exploded inside my console. I powered it down and opened it up and the game disc was in a hundred tiny shards inside the disc tray.

They are not trying to hide the Game behind a Puzzle.
EA Dev: Hey how about we make a Puzzle so impossible Hard. The only way to beat it is for the player to pay actual Money for them to continue the game and beat that one Puzzle. Of course we will add many, many of these Puzzles.

I love bloodborne and it's bosses, even if I die. I lost to Father Gascoigne and I felt like such a badass. We were at close combat and fighting up the stairs and I couldn't help but love that. (I BEAT HIM! I felt so happy, I have screamed a little. My heart was beating so fast.)

When the game is giving you a choice to make, but you accidently pick the wrong dialouge option, because you missinterpret the texts. It's always like
-Hm, I would like to-
and
-That sounds good-
But one if the options leads to: -hell no, you f-cking bastard!-

Assassin's Creed 4 multiplayer requires PSPlus. So not only do you need to play multiplayer for a game barely anyone is playing multiplayer anymore, so it will be hard to even find a match in the first place, but that platinum trophy is locked behind a pay wall too.

I played City of Heroes for the single player experience. I avoided other players like the plague, and took on raid bosses solo after massively out leveling them with a grind. When you talk about how multiplayer is required I feel your pain.

When the game doesn't have an auto save or a certain difficulty and you really don't pay attention for that, start playing for hours, and then some how you quit the game or your ps turned off... yeah repeat every damn thing... FML
