I usually don't like challenges, I usually play games on Easy, or Normal.
But I've been enjoying Remnant from the Ashes, which is harder than what I usually play, but I'm getting better and manage to get by so far.
I always LOVED the settings of the Dark Souls series, but never tried because Demon's Souls wrecked me back in the day, I sold back the game, and I never expected to want to try again a similar game.
But I am really excited for Elden Ring, and would like to practice a little with a title from the Dark Souls series.
Which title should I play to help me improve with the genre, but without being insanely hard from the start?

Because the game design is built around the world having a specific feel to it, and changing that feeling drastically alters the game.
If the developer doesn't want an easy mode then the game doesn't need it. -
Players will either find enjoyment and appreciate what the games have to offer, or they will decide it's not their cup of tea and move on.
Or that is how it should work, but all these whiney little shits these days think everybody needs to bend knee for everybody else, not realizing that slapping an easy mode on everything is actually detrimental to player development.

LuLu,
I don't care what you say. Hack and slash games can be so satisfying. Playing dynasty warriors and feeling OP when you take out 20 guys in 1 swipe feels so amazing. It's the gift that keeps giving. I get overcoming something hard and frustrating to get the satisfaction of finally doing it but that's boring to me and I call it quits after dying several times. A trainer makes from software games more fun for me. You get that OP feeling of kicking ass and I can actually finish the game and witness the story.

Being disabled, I would love to play these. I bought Bloodbourne and worked on it with my issues but quickly hit a wall. I'm pretty stubborn and tried to get better but no, my nerve issues stopped me. I love the art and atmosphere and lore.. it'd be nice to enjoy that. I didn't ask for my cash back, I'm okay supporting art.. but damn. More closed doors for disabled folk like me make the world a much smaller place. I do enjoy a challenge, but not the impossible.

If it was too easy you wouldn-t feel satisfied you would say- fun but nothing big- if it was easy but with the difficulty they give you, you almost feel like you accomplished the impossible and you will never forget how proud it made you feel
Also it-s more that it-s too complicated than too difficult just like learning subject it seems impossible to understand until you learn its ins and outs then it seem easy af

This is what people don't get, you can have difficulty levels but make the hardest the intended difficulty, it's really quite simple but people are afraid of dumbing down just because of difficulty levels which is really quite silly. Dumbing down and difficulty levels aren't the same thing. I wonder why these people never complain about other games even having difficulty levels.

Guess which other successful, KID-FRIENDLY game has NO DIFFICULTY SETTING?
Monster Hunter: World.
Yes. You have kids playing a game with no difficulty settings and weapons that have a sense of inertia when you swing them, and stamina management to boot.
If that doesn't convince you that Dark Souls not having a difficulty setting is not a bad thing, nothing will!

Not every game needs to be accessible to everyone. In a market flooded with casual games and zero difficulty games it-s nice to have something that tells you to either get better or find something else to play. It-s nice to know that after the first 30 minutes thats not the end of it you have many hours ahead to learn new things and yo try and get better

Guess what when you first start Dark Souls your first playthrough is set to normal difficulty as soon as you beat Dark Souls 1 and enter new game plus it's hard mode once you beat it a second time on the same file and enter new game + 2 it goes from hard mode to expert mode and it progresses from here on out
