I am a long time warhammer fan this review is baised on me and 2 buddys opinions after playing 8 hours during advanced release. First of all the game was made for console it plays aqwardly on pc. It does not run on HDD so it does have big requiremends for PC my friend had to use his SSD. The campaign is fun but quite short my only complaint is that the animations for cinimatics are lazy. If your a warhammer fan it will also bug you that a normal laz gun is being used as a flamethrower. The PvP multiplayer is exstremely boring 6v6 is way too small and you get stuck on the same map over and over. I played warhamer 40k eternal crusade back in the 2015 era when it was up and this was a significand downgrade from that game. The survival mode is about as good as world war Zs theres just less stuff to use equipment etc. overall of 3 warhammer fans you get 2 its alrights and 1 i want a refund. Understand this game will get more skins via in game currency that you cant pay for (yet) and they will also add more missions from what ive heard not campaign missions but operation missions. Wait out for full release or a sale in my opinion

After playing one evening I have to say it is a good game, but not the timeless masterpiece or best game of the decade everyone had promissed. Graphics are OK, but there is defenitly more to expect in 2024. I mean no Raytracing at all, and in some instances very bad draw distance and no it is not because of my PC, I play with a Ryzen 7 7800x3D and a RTX 4090. But they captured the essence of 40k very good but Games Workshop also has very strict rules about what everything has to look like. Also the difficulty is sometimes balanced very bad, the defend the antenna mission was just awfully frustrating because sometimes you just can't do anything about the unfair amount of enemies they throw at you. I know it is Tyranids but there is always a better way to this than just throw more and more enemies on the player. Overall I like the game, but I think it is more about the fact that I really love warhammer and are painting minis and reading the lore for almost a decade now. At the end it mostly pushes me towards painting my backlog: )

If you pretended to be a space marine during recess in school, this game is for you lol
Game plays and feels like 2010s games mixed with a Ryse: Son of Rome x Nordic GoW combat system, I'm all here for it too
Customization and unlocks are really reminiscent of Halo Reach (including the grind somewhat)
I'm just a bit upset that the number of classes we have could be halved by making the skill system have different disciplines (like most RPG or a simplified version of that like in Darktide) as the classes come off more like variations of a base tactical marine instead of something as distinct as Techmarines, Chaplains, Apothecaries, Librarians etc.
I think the main 2 that stick out to me are Bulwarks because Emperor's champions and Heavies because of the newer Gravitas plate being basically new terminator armor
They basically took Space Marine 1 and gave it a new coat of paint rather than bending over backward to try to reinvent the wheel

Seen that they won't mention a really important point, I will. Playing the campaign solo on veteran (supposed to be the intended experience according to the game) or above (and some moments in normal) can get extremley frustrating because of the AI companions, who to be frank, don't help. They donb't change weapons, they don't seem to engage with objectives and will moslty stand around shooting minions while you get attacked by half the tyranid fleet right in front of them. To revive you, one of them will try to get to you, ignoring any enemy and the other guy will just watch him struggle without ever helping. Those cokoo banas moments he mentions become a repetition of stuns, the constant sound of unblocable attacks and spammed enemy barbed wire while you just try to figure out what even is happening.

Man I don't care about Warhammer, I played a few of the games, and they weren't that good, at least to me.
However this one looks soo much like Gears, and it makes me think about CLASSIC Gears, when it was Gears of WAR. No crappy storyline about Mom's, or being a deserter, just badass characters fighting an monstrous army, and you gotta exterminate them all.
I was on the fence the whole time since it's first trailer, but after seeing the gameplay, it makes me really think I'm going to have to get it.
Also I am sick of games not having couch co-op, or online co-op in campaigns. Games are infinitely better when you can play WITH other people, especially together. At least to me, that stuff is way more fun and memorable than just pvp shooters.

I think this game does not deserve that big price. The campain is very trash:
-Repetitive gameplay
-repetitive enemies
-Corny dialogue
-short campain
-small costumization option
-classes from multiplayer missing
Some good things:
-sound
-Very good graphics
- Good Multiplayer
Disclaimer: This is the opinion of a newcomer in the Warhammer Universe and I get the hype behind it. I know that for the Universe fans is a big deal, like a fantasy brought to real life.
Conclusion: This game gives me COD vibes. Like, efortless campaign game, focused only on multiplayer. i hope that they don't screw that part off. But, even with a very good Multiplayer, I don't think that the Game deserves 90 euros.

I like the gaming environnment of WH40K, but I don't care much for the lore. I know it's massive, but it's also so seemingly pointless and without direction. It's all just War War War for the sake of More War. which is perfect for gaming but that is all. Everything that comes out of it is totally predictable because it all devolves into the same thing. So it doesn't get me excited because it all retreads the same ground. It plays out more in the imagination, but that all becomes a blur of the same things too. Something like Mad Max has more potential I think for creating new believable lore that expands imagination and introduces new ideas that have more weight.

according to the most helpful negative steam reviews, the game requires users to sign the Epic Games Store EULA to actually play the game. This was not mentioned on the store page, even though they are required to declare it. The EGS EULA waivers all of your rights to sue Epic. In addition, data collection is also turned on by default, so your information is being harvested without your knowledge or consent.
Helldivers 2 & Sony, now Saber Interactive, Focus Entertainment, and Epic Games. Sometimes it feels like these companies have no decency

I'm still fairly new on the whole Warhammer front, my only other experience was with Darktide and I loved the look and the feeling from that.
Was playing Space Marine 2 today and it felt funny being this utter hulk of a character, looking at all the same kind of machines you would switch on and scenery designs thinking it all looks so to me tiny from this perspective

Connection issues aside, this game is amazing. Just need to get those connection issues resolved and this game will be golden. I've played the first mission with two friends and did some PvP. It's a Gears of War knock off but with melee. The tactical side is here for multiplayer though due to the different classes and weapons. It's honestly surprisingly good

Short campaigns are most times better. Games these days are so long they get boring over time and become a chore to finish. The industry severely needs to go back to this model for more games. It is better to play a short campaign that you want to play over again than a drawn-out one-time play through.

Jake, buddy, I have been waiting for this video like you wouldn't believe and your opening excitement about 40K tells me so much. I'm happy you're now hungry for the universe bc there is much to know and much to learn. Thanks for continuing to be a reliable source of info.

Everyone go watch IGNs video review after this. It’s insane how much better this footage looks compared to them and how soul less their voice is on igns video. they made it look like a last gen game what a joke of a company these days.

This game literally feels so immersive you can feel how much detail the devs put in, I saw about 2 hours of gameplay instant favourite now. Definitely a buy, even though it costs $60 it's more better than buying some of the trash AAA games.

Too bad mine and my friends high end PC's can barely play it. We all go refunds due to it's sorry state of lag, crashing, and a bug that seems to just not allow you to parry. The devs are absolutely lazy to put this out incomplete.

Another access journalism piece. Decrypting the gobbledygook, here's the juice: game unfinished, story unfinished, all to come as DLC. Main PvE mp mode missing, to come as DLC. She'll out 100 bucks and wait a year for the real release.

WWZ is super underrated, they could've done so much more with that game. Happy to see they kept the horde mechanics and really took off with it. Can't wait to jump into this game and hopefully Toxic Commando will be another banger!
