GameStop has faced financial issues for years, culminating in a failed bid for them to be sold off to a larger company. What's going on? Let's talk Wisteria: I had one situation with our GameStop about taking in returned consoles that are broken and reselling them. My parents bought me a Nintendo Switch for Christmas from GameStop, the left side was broken and I had to go return it to them the next day. We got there asking to return it which they did but instead of doing it they asked 50 million questions about why. My dad said because the left side didn-t work and we wanted a refund, but no they kept asking why the left side wasn-t working if we properly installed it which we did it and even I ,a 16 year old, was gentle with it. We finally returned it and went to a Walmart down the street that had one console still in stock and took that. This wasn-t the first time this happened though bc the time I had a Wii U they resold a broken Game to me which I had to return again. Luckily I got 2 better games outta that so I-m really never going back there unless I really need to. Go to Walmart or Target people they don-t resell Broken Nintendo Games or ask you 50 questions over why your returning this.

i used to hate gamestop, but i realized theres no real point. ya they buy games low and sell high. they cant match large markdown on new games due to loss of the current stocks cost. they are a business and they do what needs to be done.
we dont have to sell back our stuff to them, there are other ways ebay, amazon your friend.
go to a pawn shop and sell doom eternal for fixed price of 5.00 per game.
like it or not, gamestop gives the best price for recently released games/consoles.
i did hate trading in my xbox one with kinect and saw later the kinect sold for 99 cents. it was a gut punch and i would have rather kept it. but its really more my fault for not paying attention during the transaction.
I havent bought a new game at gamestop in years, on occasion i buy but mostly return used games, kinda like renting them at no cost. just having the banks involved. . I also get most of my consoles new/used/trade in here.
we already lost video rental stores.
i would hate to see dedicated games stores die out too.

They made most of there beginning money off of drunks like me who had pristine consoles, handhelds, accessories and games just looking for a quick buck to get drunk. That was a long time ago now we stopped drinking so much and keep our stuff. I.e. I miss my now expensive old game systems and games that I sold for pennies on the dollar/heart....

-I don't have it and I can't order it but I can order this thing completely not what you asked for...- and at full retail... This has been 80% of my GameStop experience. the other 20% has been them offering me 10% the value of an item they are going to sell near retail used. New unopened games wouldn't even warrent 50% value and sell full retail...

I don-t get why people get mad about the resale, they have over head, it-s a business bruh lol. It-s outdated though and that-s why they won-t be around in the next 10-20 years. Went to a GameStop for the first time in years the other day and it almost felt retro, most games I-ve bought on the console now. I went in for a controller lol

I go to pawn shops and get a hell of a lot more money for games and cheaper to buy them.... Even some that I go to, you can pre order new games, and once in a blue moon they have the games there way earlier than GameStop.... I don-t know how

They-re awful, I-m not sorry at all. There-s people that do everything they do better. You can buy used games on Amazon or eBay for cheaper. You can buy physical games for cheaper in Target, Walmart. There-s no incentive in dealing with them.

I never liked the fact that they open up new sealed games, then try to sell them to you as -NEW- with New prices...lol
I said..No thanks, I'll go to Amazon or Best Buy and buy the same game that is actually sealed and for cheaper...

Gamestop could add a gaming lounge at their locations. I could see myself going to one. Kinda like a starbucks you can game in.
But hey, I'm just a regular guy, maybe it wouldn't work. Still, seems like it's worth a shot at this point.

Gamestops is just in the worst times to sell game physically. The store in my city maybe has a wall for Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo games. While the rest of the store is just nerd merchandise.
