Video games often give you massively important decisions to make, but sometimes they matter less than you think. Here are the in-game decisions that never really amounted to much

but thou must has become a running gag in dragon quest series. in dragon quest 11, there's about 50 of these where a character asks you to do the right thing or do something heroic and you get presented with yes/no and if you say no, they have some funny dialogue or yell at you for being heartless or browbeat you into doing the -heroic- thing.
at the beginning of pokemon platinum, they have one of these. the professor asks if you love pokemon, and you say no and they keep asking until you say yes

Spoiler Dying Light 2
With retrospect Dying Light 2 have some branches that diverge throughout the story though most lead back to the main path, some events does certain characters to act in a different way. some side quests does change based on your choices, it does change which groups of people you are aligning yourself with throughout the story. its mostly the ending that actually changes on how long and how you get to the end goal of the game

Battletech: You chose your whole life path and the only consedquence it has are dialogue options during missions and events that won't affect anything ever long term. You may lose a few bucks occasionally, but just like when your MW confides in you and you drink through the night, she gets the tag drunk, but that's never of any consequence.
Horizon Zero Dawn: And since the release of Forbidden West, we know whatever we do with Nil, he'll live.

Dragons Dogma - you can uncover one of the duke's inner circle as a cultist, nothing happens.
You can get caught by the duke with his daughter and he assumes the worst and throws you in the dungeon. After you escape, you can walk right back in through the front gate! It's like everyone (including the duke!) has amnesia about the whole incident.
Great action game, not great when it came to consequences.

Endings to Mass Effect 3 all felt mainly more of less the same with extremely little difference. I had stayed up and completed all 3 of the allowed endings in succession,.only for my narcissist friend to die rolling in laugher at my despair upon discovering that was it. It was devastating especially since I was expecting over 10+ endings as promised the year prior in an interview.

I don't know if you know this, but in Dragon Warrior, you can beat the game without saving Princess Gwaelin. I tried once, wondering if King Lorik would congratulate me on vanquishing the Dragonlord or not is his daughter wasn't back. And the game doesn't care.
Also, Princess Gwaelin will ask you if you will take her with you, now that your adventure is over, and thou must.

How is any decision in Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 not on this list? The game made you believe that everything you do even in the previous games would make a difference and then... nope. Same exact ending. And no, the fact that they patched that later does not make up for the MASSIVE dissapointment of having none of any of this matter in the end.

Let-s get This straight
Cyberpunk should have been centered around your years with Jackie. Which would have perfectly set up a second game that mimics the current story.
Imagine the life paths except if you-re a corpo you live the life of a corpo, doing high stakes missions
And so on and so for the other lifestyles

I don't actually mind -fake- choices, I find it fun to be presented a scenario and then think of what I or my character would do, but when they market it as being extremely important that is when it's annoying,

Not sure if intense, but how's this? Xenoblade Chronicles X. You can refuse to join the....whatever they're called. (I haven't actually played the game, only seen videos of.) But they sign you up anyway.
