10 video game cutscenes you can actually break
video description
SO when you're at the very end of the game, you're face to face with both the main bad guy, AND the main scientist helping you thus far. When you walk into the room, a scripted scene plays out instead of a cutscene, bad guy is holding good scientist at gunpoint, and wants to monolog to you, even lowering his gun. Scientist just wants you to shoot the man and be done with it, (no twists either, bad guy is in fact a bad guy and good guys are good guys.
Of course I did the good ending, but I loaded a save, and shot the scientist this time instead. I felt so bad for having done this, I tried to shoot the bad guy too.
It worked. They made a special scene if you just wanted to keep the time control device in your possession, and yours alone.

The team behind 'Skyrim' did an amazing job coming up with all kind of different scenarios and dialogues in response.
- If you learn the first word of 'Whirlwind Sprint' before meeting the Greybeards (where they normally teach you the first word, Arngeir will comment on that, and teach you the second word.
- You can acquire the Dragonstone from 'Bleak Falls Barrow' before getting the quest from Farengar. If you do that, when you are scripted to get the quest, you can turn it over and get unique dialogue from Farengar. I believe that even skips Delphine's appearance in Dragonsreach, which is always a plus.

Ghost of Tsushima, the Iki Island DLC, the side quest The Impact of Loss.
You are given a choice on which hostage to save. Either Doshun, the monk you set off to save in the first place, or Togo, who is Hotoke s husband.
I went for the former, and it got Hotoke pissed, but Doshun said she ll come around eventually.
I looked up what happens if you save Togo, and it turned out to be the darker scenario. The villagers abandon the couple, Hotoke dies from illness, and Togo ends up burying her and their unborn child.

Usually what I do when i play open-world action/fps when i am inside something and a cut scene ends and tells me go here/do this/or whatever - i will turn around just to see if the back is blocked or if there are rooms. if the path or whatever is blocked i will continue, if not i will go and explore. I think the same thing happend with me and Takemura in Cyberpunk. I was able to save him and thru mistake found him.

the cutscenes in Cyberpunk are so awful. overly long first person dialogue sections where none of your choices matter bc there's only one option. on top of that, they decided to make some of them take place in a car where you're not driving so you get to just sit there and wait for the A. I. to drive to your location and cannot skip it. that game has so many things that just waste your time and it's painful

In one of the tales stories (forgot which) near the beginning you start chasing after someone and if you're too slow you come across a cutscene where they kill a dog but if you can keep up with the one you're chasing you can get to them in time to save the dog (it was in the strategy guide so I didn't discover it but I did replay the scene so I could save the dog)

I think most people already know it but in RDR2 in the mission where Arthur and Charles go to rescue Trelawny from bounty hunters when you are tracking with charles most people go up to the two bounty hunters and talk to them but if u shoot one of them before you get close a different cutscence plays out where arthur basically bully the other bounty hunter.

For FO3. if you go through the Power of the Atom and nuke megaton, Moira Brown - that plucky NPC who gives you the Wastelanders Survival Guide quest - Turns into a Ghoul. If you go back to Megaton, SHE COMES OUT OF THE CRATER! One of the funniest things I've seen in a game. All so that you can continue doing the Wastelander's Survival Guide

Pretty sure an objective prompt says optional: save Takemura when you do that mission. So I wouldn't say there was no way of knowing you could save him. The game constantly reminds you Johnny Silverhand is the kind of guy who would absolutely leave someone behind if it was inconvenient and you shouldn't listen when he says he's toast.

Also in Arkham Knight, if you wait to capture the Gothams Most Wanted till after you have captured Scarecrow and everyone knows Bruce Wayne is Batman, the villains will talk to Batman in the batmobile knowing his identity and the dialogue is different than if you did it before the end of the game. It was so cool to do that.
