What the hell is happening with ubisoft?
video description
At this point, I've just stopped buying their games entirely. There are more than enough good games out there. It's silly that I kept buying their games for so long hoping for some past glimmer of excellence. Really don't understand all the people that love their open world games. To each their own though.

No Falcon, don't fall for that! Ubisoft want to release Skull&Bones in beta form, make people pay for it, play it and they'll fix it on the fly AND they haven't got the guts to state it's an Early Release Beta? Bite me! Ubisoft want their cake and eat it so they don't disappoint the shareholders.
Ubisoft and their triple-A ilk are just too blase about gaming. They're in a nice comfy position of being to pump out endless recreations of the same old cookie-cutter smack, ( Make the open world bigger, that makes them better right? , over and over and millions of us suck it up like the junkies we are. After the ultra snooze fest that was FC6, I just stopped wasting my time with Ubisoft as there's more deserving companies out there actually trying to make some interesting games, not just treat me like a cash-cow.

Ubisoft made the best game ever. And it was Hype The Time Quest XD A Playmobil Game that was ahead of its time! My first favourite game and still today im in love with it, pretty hard to make it work though; (
I really liked Assassins Creed 2, Brotherhood, Revelation was okay, but worst of those 3 (i started playing few months ago again, and I CANT FINISH IT cause of a bug)
Black Flag is one of my favourite games ever! The story and the gameplay is just perfect. Finished it 5 times and started countless times and still playable.
Bought Odyssey for 12? bucks and barely made it through the intro.
Ah and Far Cry 3 was obviously awesome.
Cant say i enjoyed a Ubisoft game from the last 10 years!

What's happening with Ubisoft? They made a New Coke. They took game franchises that had strong working formulas and added dumb things to them. There is nothing Assassin's Creed-ish about AC Valhalla. While they made a ton of money off it, people like myself bought it, played it briefly, and now it just sits in my Steam library collecting dust. Won't make that mistake again. Then there's Far Cry 6, which had all sorts of issues at launch and still has some terrible gameplay elements that I won't even get into in this comment. Oh, and they took Ghost Recon Wildlands and totally butchered it with Breakpoint, which was dreadful. These guys have just not had their stuff together over the last few years.

Triple A game devs are ruining their brand name by releasing 'GTA trilogy' and 'Cyberpunk 2077(on release)' but perhaps a worse fate is so be so aggressively mediocre like Ubisoft is. They want to have a 'Diablo Immortal' or live service battlepass game so bad, they even made a NFT game which failed. They are putting so much effort into awful, predatory games that they have been leaving their main games on the burner. And now they say people don't want big AAA games as if EA didn't realize in recent years that people DO want those games (if they're done well) and now EA is making Dead Space remake like Ubisoft is making Assassins Creed and that pirate game. After that who knows what they have?

I love Ubisoft and have 95% of their games on Xbox and 1 or 2 on PlayStation.
The problem is games used to be 50 so it was affordable but with prices increasing Iv been wanting for most games to drop in price or go on sale to save money.
I love the assassin s creed games and I still play them now but my only problem with that franchise is the animus stuff.
It really demotivates me when I have to play out of the animus so I personally think they should bring the animus to an end and just do the games in those time periods and build stories with them through the ages and link them with mentions and links to each other.

Ubisoft makes some of the most baffling decisions for a company that allegedly listens to feedback from the players. If that was the case, they would've added zombies to the Division games and reap the cash that people currently want to spend on The Day Before. Also, after Breakpoint, I'm not entirely sure the lead writer for the Tom Clancy games leaving is an altogether bad thibng. Finally, if Ubisoft was smart and actually listened to feedback, these delays for Skull & Bones would have been to implement boarding party combat.

The lead in the company is an absolute idiot. They have made some of the absolute best. they can release Skull and Bones today and still be one of the top games but they simply won't. I hate them because of The Division 2. I love the game like many others, and for years now we have not had a single decent update or dlc. no sequel no fixes. the crashes we used to get when the game was released are still happening but do they care? Nope.
They have the goose that lays the golden egg and they choose to have it lay trash instead.

I've never been really following on Ubisoft's games. Matter of fact, I don't really know what games they produce other than the AC franchise. But, boy, I didn't know that they're doing pretty bad as of the current moment. It is true to a large extent, though, that AC itself hasn't been in producing motion since forever, no new entry whatsoever. I did watch the trailer for the upcoming entry which sets the story in Baghdad, but that's it I think, since then I never heard or read any news regarding it.

It just highlights the overal issue with modern buisiness and corporations - I mean a 7 year low is not that bad, a 10% reduction in profits is not that bad, but in the current system people freak out because there is this unsustainable/unrealistic thinking that profits and stocks always have to grow. Its really, really dumb and not realistic or sustainable at all. Stock holders and board members need a serious reality check. And this is not just a Ubisoft things - its every coporation.

There's so many reasons. Repetitive garbage being one of the main things. The differences between farcry 4 5 and 6 are negligible. Same with assassins creed odyssey origins and valhalla. Dull on diarrhea crapping the bed with broken games like ac unity and the tomt Clancy games. Inserting politics into games which never goes well. They simply see shooting themselves in the foot and wondering why it hurts without realizing they're holding the gun

AC Mirage will be a hit. Bit it won t give the same feeling as older titles.
Skull and Bones is going to be DOA. I can see it.
They should just focus on single player games. Open world should shrink down a bit.
Their multiplayer games are all mediocre. Their FTP shooters and mobile games are all waste of time and money.
Ubisoft should look at what the players really want. People play it for the first few weeks, then they die.

Me on my deathbed: Son! Son! Have Ubisoft released Beyond Good and Evil 2 yet? Please, please tell this dying old man that they've released this game. It is my last wish on this good Earth to play this game. Please!
Grandad! It's me, your grandson! I'm so sorry Ubisoft hasn't finished it yet. But. but fret not! I'll bring their new Assassin's Creed game! It's set in Antartica! You'll love it!
. just unplug me already.

I think Ubisoft eyes were bigger than their stomachs.
They spend all kinds of time and money throwing it at giant games that takes 10 years to make, and hope people haven't forgotten about it by the time it releases.
On top of that, bad ideas like HyperSpace, Ubisoft Connect, and their NFT project were giant money drains.
Do all that enough, and you're gonna start tanking.

Its because of the empty open world: philosophy. Its not gonna work. An idea that can work is bringing call of juarez back as an OLD WESTERN shooter/action game. With red dead online being a faliure its a great time to capitalize on it. Either as a western open world akin to red dea or as a western fps. Either can work. But for the most part their open worlds are desd and silent.
