For someone who is into late night gaming I didn't really have that many problems. As kid, I didn't do it because it was pretty much impossible to pull off. I mostly started doing it as student, when my parents didn't really mind it that badly. Also I always had PC in my room, so no door or stairway. One of habits I never got into is snacking while gaming so it generally was easy to pull off for me. Then for late night gamer, I kind of hit jackpot with the job, working for ISP support, they always had too many people who want to work mornings, so all my shifts were and still are afternoons, allowing me to get home and game through the night, then just wake up just few hours before shift. And I believe, sometime along the way, my sleep cycle and everything just adjusted, as long as I get solid 6h of sleep at minimum, I am fine. Used to be 5h before, but even though I am not old by any means, I can feel I am not as durable as when I was 20. Also I always had this very strict timing of everything, so I never really have problems going to bet at planned time. Only real pain in the ass are games with only checkpoint saving or only saving in special locations, because you got to make decision, try getting to next one or leave early in this one. Like I got 20min left, but will it be enough for next ceheckpoint or place I can save. Free save whenever is really appreciated whenever games do it. Sure it can be used for save scumming, but screw that, let me choose whether I want to enable it or just make special difficulty without it. There is no need for all difficulties being as restrictive as hard, where point of enforcing it to prevent cheating is actually valid.

I used to work the night shift at a group home. My job allowed us to play video games on night shift as long as we got our stuff done. It was easy work just making sure everyone was in bed, cleaning, documenting, etc. I d usually have everything done within an hour or two and spent the rest of the night gaming or watching movies. The worst feeling was when your friends who worked at normal times would get off and you would have to solo queue and then really late into the night it would take 20-30 minutes to find matches. And sometimes you just wouldn t have a single player game to play so you d pretty much spend the rest of the night waiting in queues.
Best job of my life.

11: 51 I used to and still live in a basement, so no moonlight 4 me. I used to keep a small candle and a lighter in a drawer next to the tv to use if I needed light
Ps: I dont live in a basement because of financial issues (referring to the fat discord mod who lives in his moms basement meme. I do because I like having no windows.
Probably cause I also work on a submarine, and I am used to small, dark, windowless places

A few years ago, in one night, after I closed the game (witcher 2, right before going to sleep, I had a sudden, impossibly powerful jolt of motivation to do push ups. No kidding. Until that night my best was 47-50 consecutive. In that night, I did 207 in a few mins. I remember it even now. After I did the push ups, I went right to sleep. Didnt even take 30 secs of closed eyes. It was like someone hit the shut down button

My late night gaming is strictly restricted to only happen on weekends. Which is why on my weekday evening gaming sessions I anxiously look at the clock. I think more games should have a clock showing the real world time in the hud or pause menu. Humongous Entertainments point and click adventure Spy Fox does well by this and more developers should take notes from that. And even take it to a whole new level.

Weird dreams are everywhere when you go to sleep for three hours after an hour on the phone after playing the very last round whilst gaming drunk
Edit: also the bloodstaines one is relatable, too. But it s not how you think. It s more like soaked. That s because I get a bloody nose but I m too immersed to actually realise and I suddenly I touch my shirt and it s all wet and cold against my skin

Me and the boys have been playing together for 9 years. We all live in different parts of the country. Year after year we end up with more responsibility and obligation. Moving in with our girls, settling into our careers, aging parents ect. Before long we'll have kids. We have less time to play but occasionally everyone's schedule lines up and its just like 2014 again.

LOL i laughed at the drunk off no sleep thing. people always ask me if im high around 3am when they come over. i literally made a whole scenario about the worlds last can of starwars campbells soup being the only food item left in a mad max wasteland and that shit had me rolling. i still have that can sitting on my shelf unopened.
