Agents of Mayhem had that character swap and team building RPG mechanic that worked insanely well. Mixing and matching characters and their skills like attachments made it mad interesting. You could go for a 3 piece team and swap characters often, or really build around playing 1 and using the other 2's buffs, passives and assists. That game was such a product of its time; open world hero shooter RPG with a superhero-ish twist. All it needed was a battle royale to be peak 2017 lol. The gameplay is good - kinda like Mass Effect x Marvel VS Capcom and the progression through its like 15 difficulties ( think Diablo 3 & Borderlands 3) was so incredibly fun but wrapped in a bad and cringy story with suuuper lame villains, a forced Saints Row hook set in an aesthetically boring but well designed city.
Wouldnt call them bad games so much as failed games, but Remember Me's combo lab and Battleborn's fast paced MOBA PvP and per-match Character leveling with the DNA skill tree were reaaaaal fun. BringBackBattleBorn

I played Bulletproof with 50cent it was a decent game except for the aiming didn't let you see down the scope unless there was a way & I didn't know it was a game I rented so I didn't get the instruction book they either got stolen from other renters or they just didn't put it in the box because of that. The only way you knew you would get a headshot is this weird looking reticle would get smaller and make a clicking sound if I remember right & it was gory. The things he said would get repetitive it had the rest of the G Unit & if he got shot at he would repeatedly say yo home hold me down. I remember thinking you want him to hold you down that will just make it easier for you to get shot & killed but I know he meant help me out.

If Anthem did 2 things differently, it probably wouldnt be dead now.
1. Integrate the flight into combat. 3D movement and combat woulda been sick.
2. Less tanky mobs, more mob swarms. You are flying around in Ironman, you dont need to run into things that can take a dozen or more hits (bosses and sub-boss or Elites are exceptions. They shoulda went full Dynasty Warrior with the peon mobs
Those two things probably would have helped A LOT. And obviously bosses would have had to been adapted to #1 which would make the fights far more intense/interesting.
I mean, just imagine Tony Stark in his carpet bombing suit with swarms of baddies to go Clusterbombs? Yes, clusterbombs.

You kinda take the mech out of mech game when you choose the light one that acts & feels & moves like a dude in a suit instead of feeling like your inside a weighty mech thats impactful. Id splash up water to conceal my next action then shield up & maybe charge through it & cool shit like that lol i like role-playing. Id have people starting to mock duel me larping style just to show off my unique combos & fighting style.

Dude forgot about dark void
That bionic game has better grappling physics than batman or spiderman (besides 2 i think) but might be matched by Just Cause physics. Id still try bionic man & enjoy it but never played it before.

The reason Forespoken's gameplay is decent and everything else sucks, is because the game design side was mostly classic Square Enix workers (I think the Japanese ones) working within the FF XV engine. They needed specialized workers for the engine because that specific engine was notoriously difficult to work in. The reason everything else sucked, was because the writing, story, characters, missions, concept, everything, was done by a shitty American studio filled with Tumblr people. The game was such a colossal failure, Square immediately closed that studio months after the game released.
If only other companies were that reactive. cough cough Disney cough

With both the Anthem entry and the one with the jetpack (already forgot its name, all I could do was sit and think. and what about Zone of the Enders 2? over and over.
Flight & grounded mechanics, melee and ranged mechanics, seamless movement between them, a ton of different ways to kick ass, controls that are pretty good for what they need to do, AN ACTUAL GODDAMNED STORY (with anime cutscenes even, the ability to go pretty balls to the wall with the action, this game ticks every single box they complained about with those two games and then some. without so much as even being mentioned in passing.
Shame. Shame on you.

I was actually really surprised to not see Operation Raccoon City on here after RE6 showed up. It's actually still one of my favorite games. The RE name brought me in and I loved it for what it was, while a lot of people wrote it off for not being a good RE game. It may be the best squad shooter I've ever played, and each member of the team having cool, unique abilities was a lot of fun. Four Eyes was my favorite. For consoles it's trapped on the PS3, but I still boot it up on steam from time to time. I don't really have a gaming PC but the game is kinda old so I can run it at 60fps on a 400 laptop just fine.

Man I loved the flying in Anthem, and I loved playing as the tank class, and literally playing as a melee class jumping and flying to get around was the best. It was so hobbled by the live service crap and lack of content, but I enjoyed the minute to minute gameplay
Make Sporefoken better: mod out the dialogue, and to have the locomotion and most of the magic available early in the game.
Make Never Dead better: instead of rolling your head to get your body back, have the body parts reintegrate like iron man armour, so it s les tedious, have the head rolling for like a level or so for the amusement.

Battlefield 2042. Specifically, the portal mode. To be able to setup servers with user specific gamemodes, while including content from older BF games (maps, weapons, vehicles) could've been the best thing ever.
COULD have. Instead, BF2042 was and is a mess, and portal has got hardly any new content since launch. People were dreaming about seeing BF1, BF4, BF2 content in there, once BF3/BC2/1942 content was added. Instead, all we got was s minimal amount of content from the latter 3 (2 maps from each and a few weapons, that's it)

Wasn't there a swear filled taunt button in a better game called Scarface: The World Is Yours, which came 3 years earlier?
I pesonally think Watch Dogs Legion idea of recruting everyone you wanted would make the game much better, if Ubisoft leaned more on it, by letting you call in multiple characters (who are much more restrictive in what they can and cannot do) to infiltrate locations and switch between them GTA V style, making it a tactical game. Imagine Jagged Alliance with over the shoulder perspective.

Never played Mind Jack, but it immediately made me think of the game Geist for gamecube. Your character is a ghost but you can't survive in that form so you have to possess other things. Not the greatest campaign, but it did have some clever puzzles with that mechanic. The multiplayer was a blast though trying to clamor to possess the best NPCs to blow the others away. I remember maps having secret ones that were the best like a chef that threw plates like frisbees that was overpowered.

By today's standards, it would be a bad game, but at the time Urban Assault (1998) had a great concept. Strategy game with resource node rules, but with every unit you produced, you had the ability to jump into any unit and control it, or let the unit and squads do their AI thing. Tanks, jets, helicopters, didn't matter, if you built it, you could take control of it. Story was a miss, poorly told. If anything the game was just a collection of skirmish maps tied together by a theme.

RE 6 had a feature where at the points where the different campaigns intersect, you could connect with other players that might be entering the same part in the game on a different campaign, meaning, you could be playing with a buddy on the couch, 2 others playing through Redfield's campaign, and maybe even someone doing an Ada run for a bit. First example of Asynchronous multi-player I can remember

Let s hope there s some kind of awesome flying space mech suit in Mass Effect 4. There s actually some precedent for BioWare reusing ideas from other games; for example, the dragon boss fights from Inquisition are pretty much copy pasted into Andromeda, except they re SPACE dragon fights there.
Also, the best thing about Neverdead is the song Megadeth was hired to write for the game.

Anthem was supposed to be a single player game, in the 11th hour the devs were told they had to make it a live service MMO instead to capitalize on the genre and it was. a bad move. I 100% loved the big boy armour. Destiny looked AMAZING, it felt fantastic, it was a great game that was dead before it got a chance to be great, it was never going to be good because of how it was changed.

Man I love Resident Evil 6, I would never go as far as to call it a bad game, for sure it's not as good as other Resident Evil games but being not that good as is very different from being bad, Great replayability, awesome graphics that still hold, Ada never looked hotter, online cooperative campaign for those that actually buy the game and split screen for those who pirate it

To almost all I can agree. Almost. Resident Evil 6 wasn't that bad and I really liked it.
I think the main reason why this game didn't do so well was because players expected something different and didn't enjoy this new side with lots of action in it. A series is alowed to change and try something new. Otherwise we would stuck in the same thing over and over again.

Making Resident Evil an action game was a bad move. From the beginning it stood apart because it was a horror game with some shooting. It was never meant to be an action game. The more they try to make it an action game, the more pointless it becomes. Hundreds of other games will do the formula of an action game better. Horror should stick to horror.

Yup, as much as Anthem was a terrible game, I still enjoyed the flying mechanics and I still want a coop game of all things. Warframe gives me that feeling sometimes but its all separated for the most part, unless you hit the open world places that allow all movement styles (mech, flight, ground ninja) or be a frame that just does flying (Titania.
