first off he says the combat is dark souls and references dark souls a lot do not go into it thinking dark souls, i mean the combat is all there of a fromsoftware game but it also ads the addition to r1 sprint attack and r2 sprint attack along with those attack there is the 2 hand weapon or one hand weapon system like dark souls that also has different attacks for r1 and r2 also kick works in this game, i could not kick to save my life in dark souls but it is viable and i think the combat shines when you find different combos you like and add kick into the mix, the buckets from prisoner equivalent class you have a drop kick attack and it is so fun, i hated it at first until i figured out about the running attacks

One of the worst Souls-likes yet. I put it even lower than Wo long which was a bad game overall. The combat and weightness of melee attacks are clunky and sluggish. Animations and running look weird. Sound design and VA dogshit. Spell effects look trash. Also the enemy placement is so bad it reminds me Dark Souls 2 enemy placement. I don't get how someone who has played tons of Souls-like and Fromsoftware games can praise this game. I respect now Lies of P more and more on what they were able to achieve. If you want a good Souls-like game go play the Nioh games or Lies of P instead

Meh. I made it past the first boss and into the main hub, so far I am not impressed at all. It feels more like an arcade game than anything. The attacking and parrying is horrendous! There is no feel to the game. When you attack you feel like you re just swinging at air. It just feels super weak. Same with a perfect parry, you don t even know you do it because you can t feel the combat and the sound is hardly noticeable. The blocking sucks. I m fact, the combat in general sucks. I m far enough into the game that I can say Lies of P absolutely destroys this game.

Seems like this game has every single possible form of Unreal Engine stuttering (shader comp, traversal, asset load/streaming. I'm sure that the whole spirit realm thing, aka having an entire world existing in parallel to regular in-game world is doing the game absolutely no favors when it comes to the streaming of assets.
Theoretically, I could see that sprirt world gameplay feature basically doubling the frequency of ever kind of stutter that the game sufferers from. Welp at least I can look forward to the Digital Foundry autopsy

And at 2: 40 you talk about it not working on computers very well and how it doesn t work well without an SSD.

You have to have an SSD to even think about it. It s a Current only game!
Now I m sure the game still has some problems on PC with an SSD regardless, but I m just saying that the way the statements are made and the way it s described is very misleading.

most soul likes and lights are copies and reboots of souls. It's honestly becoming a stale game style and not just because it's hard but really the stiff animations and not better ways to attack and defend that is why I don't understand how Elden Ring got game of the year for being a super niche type game. I do like Lies of P though, as far as souls like that has been one of the best releases. I also like God of war a lot more in terms of combat and things you can do.

I have tried three times to play this piece of crap, and I just can't get interested in it at all. I am a souls veteran but this looks like something that should be on a PS3. Terrible menus, clunky controls, and way too many variables. I started as a spell caster, but then found that when you enter the umbral (land of the dead) you can't use spells! What the hell were they thinking there?
After about 4 hours total it was just too boring and I deleted it.

That means you have to have an SSD to even consider playing this game. It is a current-gen only game.

Word on multiplayer, it is not peer to peer like other souls games where everything is based on your own Internet. Its is entirely based on the world hosts Internet, which if they have not so good Internet can cause some pretty nasty latency/delay issues for everyone that isn't the host. So just keep that in mind when in multiplayer, not saying it as a deterrent just make sure you are aware connection issues may not even be your fault.

One thing is to create an entire genre of games that completely changed the industry and spawned hundreds of copy cats like From Software did another is just to create another bland clone like these guys did. I recommend placing a disclaimer somewhere correcting the statements you made about the game having denuvo anticheat. The devs have said on Twitter We are pleased to confirm that Lords of the Fallen does not, and will never feature Denuvo.
A lot of people boycott games nowadays simply for having denuvo, I think this can really harm the game's sales and is worth a correction.

it's been rebooted twice
yeah this game's about to be garbage. fromsoftware does like every detail perfect. the original was already uninspiring and although they had some niche cool mechanics, the game itself was just a chore, absolutely beyond boring.
this has a single good mechanic but seems to be going the same way. specially given that development

Refunding it hopefully tomorrow morning. Don t know what I was expecting. Wanted to see how beautiful the game looked on my ps5 since the game is utilizing unreal engine 5. Doesn t look all that great on my 4K tv. Combat also feels a bit to floaty to my liking. Hope you all enjoy it. Guess I have to wait for Spider-Man 2 and Alan wake 2

The games a piece of shit, combat is clunky and rough it is NOT satisfying in the least. The movement of the character and the momentum is just wrong, cartoony fast and just doesn't suit this style of game. Strafing is weird as well. If you're expecting a FromSoft game, DON'T. It's 2014 LOTF but slightly better. Graphics are shit too.

To be honest, I hated the original one as it was flawed in so many ways but. it I couldn't stop playing it: -) The characters were awesome and plot was nice and I needed to know how it ended. And those big ass armors. And this is from the person who doesn't like souls games: -) So here I don't know. Will try it but am hesitating.

Ohhh boy it plays just like this on the ps5 too. I somewhat kinda thought it would play a bit more like the Demons Souls remake (3 years ago. Considering unlike Elden Ring, this game doesn't have a PS4 version holding it back.
The performance on Ps5 is surprisingly bad. I'm loving the game, but yeah not the best visually.

I've decided to take the plunge and buy it for ps5, deluxe version with steel book.
Was also thinking of getting lies of p, reminds me of bloodborne.
Also FF7 Rebirth, but kind of disappointing that you can't get carry saved data from FF7 remake

It gives me hints of Demons Souls, Dark Souls 2 specifically, and Bloodborne, all three aesthetics and mechanics blended together, not perfectly but good enough of a job to sell the game for me. Been looking forward to playing it since it was first teased, hopefully it plays as well as I m hoping.
