Guitar Hero now looks like Rocksmith. You plug in your real guitar and play and they sell expansion-packs. - It has been like a live service for years and it's from Ubisoft. - The latest, Rocksmith+, actually launched about a year ago, is actually subscription-based, believe it or not, but that's of course for new content and the fact that it is basically a learning-tool (and there's an app-version as well. - So yea, you do have to get a guitar for it, unless you already have one, but they make playing guitar very accessible. - Of course, Guitar Hero is a rhythm-game and much more game-y and can be more competitive because of it. - But I honestly don't think it's the peripherals that would keep most people from investing in it. I'm quite sure if the game is good to go, they'll just get one of those controllers and have at it. - That is, if the prices are right, and also younger gamers are open enough to it.

As far as Guitar Hero, et al redux, the timing seems right. Platforms unified on USB C, peripherals have a potentially wider appeal, and RF advancements will only enhance everything.
Yes, unique peripheral requirements likely repel some casual gamers--but could also pick up a few of its own, and possibly move a some (or a few hundred) consoles for those without who can afford it and have nostalgia.
Plus these games are designed from the ground up for DLC. I'm no fan of microtransactions, but if paying a few bucks lets me jam out to some Queen, Rush, or Rolling Stones, I am there for it!
It seems to me that juice would be more than worth the squeeze for all parties.

8: 18 Returning to unique art direction and aesthetics being the standard for game visuals rather than more and more games converging into generic realism is another way of making your game recognizable.
I'm all for advancing technology and using the fanciest graphics possible, but I miss the days when you could instantly recognize any screenshot of any game based on art direction alone. Heck, it used to be that even if you had no prior knowledge or experience with the specific game in question, you could probably place it by matching its aesthetics to other games in its series or just the general visual style of the studio that made it. Not so much anymore though.

Cyberpunk needs a way better character creation suite. I'm a large person and was unable to make a character that looks like me due to limited options. I saw NPCs with my build, but my avatar was stuck with meth-head features. It really breaks immersion when one creates a character, only to look like every other player. Had there been multi-player, players would've been stuck trying to recognize their avatar, especially if the third person was implemented, lol. When I used the mirror, it completely broke immersion and having that in my head, I couldn't sustain the immersion. It felt like my time was waisted, making a character.

I d love to finish the vanilla cyberpunk but when I transferred it to the PS5 last summer trophies won t pop. I can t find a real answer so the game has made itself useless to me again. I m glad ppl like it because now I can make my money back on the enormous collectors edition I preordered. It really is a cool bunch of stuff. It s really really big though and I didn t touch it after being so pissed about the game.

It's actually so annoying to continuously hear about how much the Xbox series S is Holding back game development. It's just making every project harder & more tedious for game devs. It's not just impacting the transition to next gen but it's probably holding back quality game development as a whole. Since they constantly have this thing impacting their Xbox series X, PS5, PC game projects.

From what I've read, the Series S's GPU is kinda on par with an RX6600 or a RTX2060. If devs can't get games working on the Series S, they're going to start leaving those PC gamers behind as well. Just sayin. the Series S is underpowered, but I think it has it's place. Just like the Steamdeck, WHICH it's more powerful than, I might add. Don't own one, don't really care, it's just my. 02

With the Xbox Series X vs Series S. why is it an issue? These are basically just little computers. so, for example, you can play a game on a PC with an RTX-4090 in 4k, or play the exact same game on a PC with a GTX-970 at 1080p, just adjust the settings. Why can't Xbox developers just do that to compensate for the Series S shitty GPU?

A guitar hero comeback would be DOPE! Saw an ad on the German equivalent of Craigslist of the whole set with the drums for xbox 360 like 3-4 years ago and I just had to buy it my gf at the time even gave me her Xbox 360 from time to time I play it and it s so much fun especially with friends. Imagine that with the graphics from today!

Meh, PL probably needs to double its sales to break even and then I think a lot of people will feel burned from the launch anyway. I'd do a Witcher, then after a 2nd dev cycle (7 years-ish) people may have mellowed to where it'd be ok to go again with Cyberpunk. You'd like to think they'd never gaslight like that again

I would absolutely love a Guitar Hero revival. I've been playing clone hero with my E-drum kit, it's not ideal TBH. If they do a revival, they should completely do away with first party controllers (the whole community playing Clone Hero already has their own guitar/drum controllers at this point.

I'm still confused as to why this game was released early. I enjoyed the game very much
(I waited a year before getting it due to hearing all the bugs involved with it lol)
Was it the people that kept complaining or was it WB games hoping to meet and exceed sales

I wouldn't be surprised if they brought out peripherals that you attach your cell phone to. Like a Guitar and you clip your phone into the bridge to take the place of the notes buttons sort of thing. I expect at the very least it'll be a microtransaction mobile hellscape.

My dude, that car is a classic Lamborghini Countach, one of the greatest supercars of the 1970s and 1980s, and it's worth 600k or more. No joke, it's the car that gave Lamborghini the cachet that they now enjoy, rolling in that thing was a flex for sure.

Playing cyberpunk for the first time - crashes more than I would like, and the gameplay is starting to get a bit repetitive. Which is sad, because it's not a bad game, but it's missing some things. Hopefully they correct that in the next release.

Legend of Rock was the best guitar hero by far and we need a new one without them redoing the guitar. Just make it 6 buttons like the older guitars. Rock band was good but guitar hero is the ultimate nostalgia game for me for sure

I love how we went from being worried about another Cyberpunk game, to being excited for it. Say what you want about the bad release, but I'd rather have them turn it into a great game instead of just giving up and abandoning it.

Unpopular opinion: I enjoyed playing Cyberpunk more than RDR2. I think it s the setting and the ability to traverse the map quickly, towards the end of RDR2 I hated that my only options to traverse the map were the horse or train

The fact that remedy are complaining about the series s means that they care enough to put in the effort to make it work. A lesser studio would've just half-assed it. I hope people don't take their statement the wrong way
