For those maybe more curious, I'm really enjoying it. In post souls-like world we live in, no one wants to make this kind of game anymore. I'm talking, 3rd person-shooter, open world exploration, progression and a sci-fi setting. Days Gone is that ish, but really it's just Horizon Forbidden west for something on this console generation.
This has always been a sparring genre really. There's plenty of open world tick boxes' games, but few of them are sci-fi shooters. Division 2, but even then that's not really as sci-fi a world as I like. Watch Dogs Legion is pretty close, but that is also just an urban setting. And I'm happy there's a game out here just existing. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel, just be a fun time-waster. All the big games recently I can't get into cause I don't like souls-like combat at all and each time I try them I end up putting enough hours in to not get a refund, and getting to maybe the third boss before I'm bored of it.
I basically want more Horizon games and that's what this is, just not as good.

I think people are staking some entertainment on talking crap about this game. It certainly LOOKS under-cooked from a combat depth and environment interaction option standpoint, totally fair criticism. The story looks to offer choices that don't have the type of narrative consequence the AAA landscape needs to be offering (praise Larian. But there's a vibe check here that passes if you're a Star Wars fan. I think Ubisoft made a neat Star Wars game that should've existed next to Bounty Hunter, Rep Commando, and Battlefront. It's not $70 Ubisoft, it's not even $40. If I have time and this is sub-$20, as a long-time Star Wars fan, I'd be tempted to give this a go. But you're not pulling me away from Persona 5 Royal, $25 physical new, or a good chunk of my 10/10 backlog, with this value prop. And everyone else has the same relative access to said backlog.

I could feel the pain in his voice trying his best not to trash it lol But damn I’m so grateful for the gaming community. Thanks to us we have really good games that came out like Wukong, Helldivers, and honestly many more! So I can easily not give a damn about this game trash! Being busy playing actual games with true story and amazing gameplay instead of paying 70$ for a politic agenda. I might be biased toward male main characters, but there some damn good main strong females Tomb Rider was fcking amazing, Mirrors Edge - brilliant and there are more. So my question is why did they stop hiring amazing writers!
But hey I think we are winning boys, there hope this culture is ending!

Personally I think this game has a lot of missed opportunities. For example, the main can be Vess and include a character creation. Why The same thing Mass effect did. Sure the default can still be Kay Vess, but with a character creator ubisoft would not have all the fugly critcs, and probably save a bunch of cash hiring the actress. It could borrow the style of prologue like cyberpunk 2077, which means more backstory for players. Generally I think this is the problem with modern AAA RPG, a lot of it is trying to push their character, and in the process forget that a sizable group of players like to play their character in a star wars universe.

I have about 12 hours in at this point and been having fun. Only complaint I have so far is the speeder bike mechanic and some missions are hard to find the mwchanic to help you stelth around. I have also ruined my rep with the Pyke. Just end up guns blazing too many times. Haha. The worlds are much more expensive then Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor and the control's are about the same. Story is probably a bit stronger on JFO/JS but im still early in the story in Outlaws and I am enjoying the underworld aspect.

I’m 11 hours into the game and I legitimately feel bad for Massive. This is the most I’ve been immersed in a world since RDR 2. Yes, the criticism is true, but no where near the extreme degree the comments in here want to think. This is the best thing to come out of Star Wars since (imo) the prequel trilogy. Even with its flaws, this is my game of the year and I hope one day Massive knows that there are people playing this game that recognize how much love they poured into this.

RTX 3050, 3060, 3060ti and 4060 are all struggling some at 1440p some at even 1080p. Bad textures bad LODs let's just say this game is below average. RIP facial animations throughout gameplay the voice acting is not matching with the expressions of the face. Did blendshapes of characters just died after AC Unity Just say this time that this game is not worth it for any audience. Bad AI bad mission design where do I even start and this man says it is OK.

Honestly, sounds like my kind of game. I have not followed this game at all, but the things I would care about seem to be good. I just want to say her hair is awful. I am not sure if its the graphics, style, physics or what, but her her is just there. Like not properly attached to her or no movement. I cant quite describe it but it is so off putting. Hopefully some mods will have different hair options.

After Pre-Ordering cyberpunk 2077 I waited til the anime released in which I finally got back in and to my surprise they fixed everything that was wrong on day 1, but as for Forza Motorsport, I will never buy a game at full price especially with the lack of tracks and game modes (plus it’s live service, like wth) in Forza even to this day it lacks a lot of content compared to FM7

Honestly. Iv put about 12-15 hours in the game so far. The review is spot on. As a die hard starwars fan, the universe is perfect. The story I found myself too many times skipping cut scenes just because they weren’t that good. But this is probably the best Star Wars game to come out since the last Jedi with Kestis. The first one. I’ll give it a solid 6. 5/10

looks fun to me. simple ubisoft style open world shenanigans in star wars universe. not every game needs or can be a masterpiece. it can be mediocre but fun at the same time. nothing wrong with that. sometimes i just want to turn my brain off and ride some speeder bikes and shoot some stormtroopers.

I had to pause the video. I'll give you Fallen Order, but Squadrons wasn't worth it's lowered release price. That game was paper thin for content and the gameplay had been done better on PC back in the X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter days. Saying Fallen Order and Squadrons are of similar ilk is much like saying Prime Rib is as good as McDonalds. What an insane comment.

So I'm not a massive Star Wars fan -- I don't generally get into the ancillary shows and expanded universe stuff -- but I am a big Assassin's Creed fan. Will I like this game A lot of the gaming mechanics seem similar, and if it's basically just an AC game set with a Star Wars backdrop, that might be compelling enough to get me to pull the trigger.

I’m currently playing and pre-ordered and I’m honestly enjoying it. My main want for this game was an actual open world game and for the most part I’ve got that so far.
Solid B grade game so far. No mindblowing. There are some things in it when I question why it was overlooked and some repetitiveness but overall it’s enjoyable for me.

i’m not gonna lie. Most of these companies are going bankrupt because there’s a financial crisis going on so all of these games from 2022 2024 I’ve been half measures. They’re just pumping and dumping these games out and seeing who buys them I’ve been going back to older games because they have more value than the new games

I’ll wait for the for traditional audience update. You know after the whole world gets sick of all this and decides that they’re going change everything for the more Traditional audience so they can make money. If they were to do that then yes I’ll give games that I otherwise would not give a shot a chance.

At first I was very excited to hear about this new OpenWorld Starwars game. But after watching a lot of videos lately and hearing about, mostly, negative gameplay experiences I had to cancel my pre-order yesterday. I will wait till this game will go on sale for around 25, 00 before I give it a go. Good video! :)

Thought it looked bad (I have a 4080s) it runs good just looks bland and plays poor. Games need to grip you within few hours maximum preferably within minutes and this doesn’t do it. The gunplay is oddly bad I just don’t get how it feels bad it just does. Game feels old too hard to describe. 5/10 for me

You really have to turn your brain off to remain a starwars fan these days. too bad, so much of my adult disposable income could/prollyWould have gone into StarWars stuff if they didn't butcherd StarWars. Now days i just put down extra payments on my mortage instead.
