PC Gaming is thriving because of consoles. Seriously this random comment you are reading may seem odd now but remember it years down the line. The market is currently diverse enough for a variety of products to co-exist with consoles taking the brunt of the market but once enough of it skews towards the PC which honestly is more of a Wild West, corporations and regulators will find a way to capitalize on it by imposing and normalizing anti consumer tactics. We already lost net neutrality. The Internet and how we use it will change and I for one don't agree with where it's going, but it is inevitable. For now enjoy your PC gaming, in the end it'll basically look just like the console market looks now.
Closing statement, this is a market projection. Not an emotional spout, gaming is my hobby and if you like gaming on mobile, console, or PC more power to you. I am more than welcome to it and hope you have a good time. This will happen along with games in general changing due to the next generation of gamers growing up with Roblox, Minecraft, Fortnight, Genshin Impact, and Overwatch. Eventually moving on to Call of Duty, Apex, Warframe, and GTA Online as the age.

Somewhere in the world tonight there are families and kids who won't have a decent meal tonight, but Blizzard is charging $90 for a mount that does nothing more than advertise look, I have disposable income, and people are happily buying it lol.
I know this argument is very far out there, like yea. there are rich people and poor people everywhere. One thing doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the other. But it's still messed up when you imagine how much money Blizzard has made off that thing. I bet it's more than enough money to provide EVERY SINGLE homeless person in the US food for a WEEK, at least.
At least some companies donate the money, i. e. when Sony/Insomniac released the skins for Spider-Man 2 and gave up to $1 million to a non-profit. I mean. the skins were trash and the non-profit was for low income people trying to become game developers lol. But STILL! And their skins only cost $4. 99 and included some other stuff, like photo mode frames and what not.
Blizzard should be ashamed of themselves and anyone who buys crap like that should be ashamed as well. I don't care if you got it like that or not.

At #1-6 Falcon is mad because stealing Mario games is illegal and Sony wants to sell stuff for profit. Shock and horror the owners of the intellectual property want to control them, because they you know. own them. Take breathe my man
The 100 places without psn can shock and horror again just but a PlayStation. It's almost like they considered that.
I genuinely don't understand the mindset where when a company wants to make money so they can make a thing that you enjoy and then when they do make money to make the thing that you enjoy you get mad at them for making money but then you also get mad at them for not making the thing that you enjoy as much as you want them to make it. Would you please make up your mind and decide whether or not you hate corporations or you want the corporations to make things for you. Making a profit is not scummy. Making a profit is simply something a company has to do in order to create the product that you're asking them to make for you.

Who would've seen it coming that investors chucking money at the gaming industry as soon as they saw the potential for money making, would end up with a dearth of creativity. AAA studios these days are synonymous with 'bad player experience', especially after most of the main developers leave major studios to form their own studios. All AAA games these days can rely on is the IP they're slapping on the front of games, hence why when a new AAA IP tries to launch, we end up with Concord.
The same reason is also why I cringe whenever someone says 'Obsidian should totally make a new New Vegas'. The Obsidian that made New Vegas is not the Obsidian that exists today. Outer Worlds was ok at best and Avowed we'll have to wait and see, but from gameplay trailers I've seen, I'm not holding my breath for it to be any good. At this point I'm waiting for more info on Atomfall rather than a new Fallout, and I love the Fallout games

It's weird, they keep chasing Fortnite but I bought Battle Pass in Season 5, as in the Chapter 1 (didn't have a PC that could run Fortnite at stable 30 FPS before that, the Battle Pass keeps paying itself off and give extra premium currency. even have STW since 2020 now in case I want some extra V-Bucks. Still spent money to buy some starter packs, and some other packs. Meanwhile games trying to be Fortnite, each BP costs money, it's too hard to finish the BP, there's no extra premium currency in the BP other that letting you buy the next one sometimes not even that, everything in the shop wants you to pay, no way to earn premium currency otherwise. Gee I wonder why they fail and Fortnite worked (ok ok Fortnite has the number of players in its corner too)

I am a Loyal playstaion user since dsy 1 & have owned them all including the ps5, so when i heard of the ps5 pro, i knew i wanted it! Buuut when I heard they wanted $700, thats all I needed to be nudged towards PC & am Building one now! Screw Sony, Games are better & cheaper on PC, & if I really need a PS exclusive, I have the PS5 & I will still wait until the price drops, LOL!
Because of thier recent changes to PS & Stars, I am also letting my subscription lapse next month & probably grab Game Pass on PC. Its time for a change because corperate greed is becoming a little much for me PlayStation.

I get why Nintendo doesn't like third-party emulators (the games are their property, and they want to be the ones in control of distribution, but if there is one thing these emulators have taught us, its that Nintendo could easily make emulators to allow pre-switch games to be played on the switch through their store (or through some PC portal if the switch can't do it for some reason. They could be selling their old IP to a new generation of player, making them money, and making gamers happy, but for some reason they would rather see these games lost to time than use them.

We all know the real 2 reasons these devs are swapping to unreal engine.
A) the staff either left or got fired that actually know or built up their engines, either because it got to expensive to keep them or the company didn't align with them because of politics, so they're left with too few staff to actually use their own engine.
B) The new staff would take months to train up on their own engine, whereas they can more easily hire up new staff that have worked on unreal engine.

Problem with cosmetic dlc is that it’s getting expensive yet people still buying. Like blizzards dinosaur for 90. Absolutely insane but if what falcon is saying that they’re selling really well. The that leads to 1 no price drops on dlc and 2 even more expensive dlc. Devs will keep putting out product it people are buying. Sucks cause as long as that continues. Dlc will continue to get even more expensive. Apex legends and first descendant have some insane prices for cosmetics.

Publishers have been chasing fortnite for years. smh, and thats not going to change anytime soon. Also, triple A wasn't for the companies to say what game was triple A game was but what the player based rated a game. Lastly, continuing to assume that money is the lvl to assess the state of a subject or scene. We have all seen games that only have a small group of people, make it a thing. Monetary value isn't a great way to gauge success in certain areas.

The WOW mount is obviously a rip-off but it's selling like crazy for one simple reason. You get access to the auction house anywhere anytime. That's a huge deal for some people out there. It is not just a collectors item, it includes some level of convenience. And as far as I can tell, this is the first time the auction house is acccessible outside of the actual auction houses. The price is just a clever move from Blizzard. We might hate it but it works.

IP for Specific designs, logos, names ect. I'm fine with but mechanics no and is eventually going to backfire on these companies or will destroy the industry and I actually have an Idea that could potentially destroy Nintendo by patenting a certain game mechanic that currently 99% of games use now a days and just let every other game be made free to use except Nintendo. I'm not going to say what until I look into it more

Palworld patent is fine as it clearly copied pokemon in a way that could actually be patented, Memento Mori being sued is completely different! The Sega patents are a little too vague; Nintendo's at least described every detail of the mechanics so another developer could get around it if they wanted to. Could someone please find Sega's patent documents for this so I can see how descriptive they are

The horse armor, adjusted for inflation, is still under $4. For that you got what, in modern terms, is six or eight skins with new models, all of which had an actual in game advantage (it increased your horse's health)
For under $5.
Today you'd get one skin for that. Maybe. Such a rip-off, people said!
It was a good deal. People were just shocked at idea of paying for non-interactive content.

Remember when everyone was saying, PC gaming is dying. No one will make PC games anymore because of console supremacy. As a PC gamer I said they didn't know what they were talking about. Now PC gaming keeps growing and consoles (which are mostly just PC hardware nowadays) are falling off.
Also, I will never buy a PC game that requires PSN to play. I own some PlayStations, but screw you PlayStation!

I was ok with the name change until i was told 343 was already a halo refrence. THEN WHAT WAS THE DAMN POINT. As crazy as this sounds i would be ok with it IF, they patch all their games to change the starting logo over to the new one. i know that sounds like much to ask but with how consistent 343 has been with ONLY halo, it wouldnt be a big ask from microsoft to update anything on XB1 and newer

OMG Falcon I used to get all my stuff from MIRC too back in the day too; a friend of mine rented server space so he could mass download a crap ton of stuff, so I can fully relate. Agree though patenting genre is just a greedy money grab from these multi-billion-dollar companies that just want profit all the F'n time that don't care who they step on, which ultimately loses gamers interest!

Told ya, Nintendos lawsuit against Palworld will ruin the games industry, because now more will patent mechanics and retroactively sue everyone. Further proving that Nintendo while making amazing games has nothing but scum in leadership positions.
Player unknown could Patent the BR formula, with the shrinking zone and such, and get filthy rich suing everyone else that copied it.

I hope an indie developer, maybe the guy who created Disco Elysium, would patent RPG, using music in games, having characters in games, playing games, having words in games, and breathing in air while playing games, and he allows everyone to use those ideas for free, except Nintendo and Sammy (aka Sega because Sammy is the Yakuza, so they hide their real identity.
