These flashback bits were my favourite story sections Bessie the set pieces I still love how good the chemistry of Joel and Ellie is these help to make you morn the loss of Joel and I like the idea
I just wish the rest of game rewarded you of the journey the ending just neglects the entire meaning to try and change Ellie's character however they don't show her change that well to be it just happens
I wish they didn't kill him off so early and in that way I get it so they can do these moments of grief through flashbacks but it just makes people wanna play more of these sections instead of the actual moments in the game shame to me

Jeez. The mental burden this man went through. Lying to Ellie about the Fireflies and saying there was no cure. Marlene was right. I think if Ellie would've known that her sacrifice could save mankind, she would do it in a heartbeat. But Joel just couldn't lose someone else that he cared for. It was bad enough that he lost his daughter during the outbreak. Losing Ellie would've truly torn him apart. Say what you want about the game, but you can't sit there and ignore the storyline. Which begs the question. Would you allow someone you loved to be sacrificed?

What I hate about this is that it makes Ellie seems pretty dense.
I mean, The Last of Us ending was pretty clear and conclusive: Joel lies to Ellie to hide is (righteous, in my opinion) selfishness and to make her feel better about her whole survivor guilt she had since the events of the dlc; by the last -. ok- we players understand she knows it's all a lie but that she wants to believe it because it's the only way to move on.

These flashbacks are the actual DLC LOOOOL
But no really, I'm really loving this, it's so great to see some action with Joel to make up for being killed so early in the game. Though, I still wish that Joel was part of the present time missions before he drew his last breath.
That boss battle with the shambler was intense btw, enjoyed it. Just when the world Ellie was done for, it was actually shambler who was done for haha. JOEL'S THE TRUE SHAMBLER HERE BOI

1: 15 that relates a bit to the events of Joel-s death, Abby being referred as a savage and how he -deserved it, but. - and how they escaped. I-m probably just stretching this one out, but it came to my mind, quite disturbing.
Also on a side note, how Joel mentions at first that it is not his cup of tea, probably most people-s reaction to his death.

Waitwaitwait, there's something that confuses me. When you get to the skeleton of the couple, it's implied that one of them turned, probably being the clicker, but Ellie said: they ran away last year. How could she have been a clicker if it takes years to become one?
