Whereas look at Ellie from 2 parts ago, She was willing to toss aside her gun and blind rage to save Tommy, a former firefly. Ellie said she knows what Joel did and she understands why Abby did what she did but what she's about to do will restart the cycle all over. If Abby pushes to re-avenge the revenger for her friends than she dooms herself and there's no pity to be felt for her at all.

Personally I think Abby is still in the wrong. Her dad asked Joel to do what he wouldn't have been able to do which was to give someone they love up for -saving humanity-. Despite the whole theme being revenge I think it's messed up to ask someone to do what you can't do and when they don't do it go on a vendetta to torture and kill him, like, your dad wouldn't have done it either but he was pretty content with forcing someone else to that fate. I don't like how this game is trying to force us to feel bad for Abby, if it had been her decision to give Owen up or something, she would've done the same.

People are saying that they arent sympathetic with Abby and that-s understandable. But the thing is, neither Joel nor Ellie are morally good people either. Everyone in this apocalyptic world arent good. From Abby-s shoes, her vengeance to kill the people who murdered her dad is understandable. We see Ellie getting revenge and yet, people are crucifying Abby for literally doing the same. Revenge and vengeance makes you messed up. We just happened to follow the story of Ellie and Joel and gained emotional attachment but if we didnt, we wouldnt feel any different.

My biggest issue with this sequence is the part where they keep calling it a vaccine
it's a fungal infection
This guy is a quack & in the first game there's multiple voice memos of vaccine tests failing. as in, they had other hosts and weren't successful (probably because it makes no sense in the first place.
If Joel hadn't killed him, the only difference in the TLOU universe would be that Ellie was dead. That's it. The -virus- would still be there.
Cuz it isn't a virus.

Before this part of the game, I did not believe the criticisms that others had made, but now I think they are right. They can't make me believe, after I don't know how many hours of play, that the WLF is a good and sustainable society, and that Abby is a good person who was carried away by hate, just like Ellie. I understand what the writers wanted to try, but did not know how to achieve it.

So. uh. imagine if the doc and Marlene would've talked to both Joel and Ellie and explained the surgery to them. Joel would freak out but maybe just maybe Ellie would've convinced him. Welp. Also y'all saying a pregnant woman can't do this and that. um. well obviously it isn't ok but she chose to and I guess we all know how that worked out in the end.

Abby said she will let them run the test. But it is her, not ellie. If it is her choice, then it is also Ellie's choice whether she is willing to die for that experiment. But hey kept it from her. They are wrong and they should have told ELLIE not JOEL first, man she's clueless.
Joel made the right choice not letting them do it.

It sad he couldn't answer the question? If that was your daughter? What will you do? Now I understand of both side of the story. In the end. He was going to kill her. Joel couldn't allow that to happen. He lost his daughter. Joel couldn't see another girl that he love her like a daughter. To die. This is a Sad/Revenge story on TLOUS2

There's something I just noticed and it's bugging me. For how big Jackson and WLF base are, I find it odd that there doesn't seem to be a single cat around either place. You'd think a big post-apocalyptic city with a big food store would benefit from having a cat colony or two to keep vermin in check.

I think allot of the comments about empathizing with Abby or Joel miss the point. Like her or hate her, I think this shows that Abby is more than just a faceless villain. Much like real life, there are always two sides to the story. You just don't always see them both.

Abby killed Joel to avenge her dad. Ellie wants to kill Abby to avenge Joel. And I'll bet someone would want to kill Ellie to avenge Abby, then someone would wanna kill whoever killed Ellie to avenge Ellie. The avenge cycle seems to just never end sometimes.

All of a sudden, the game feels like (at this point at least) it is losing importance, tension is drawn away as interest recedes. Playing must feel like being a mercenary.
