How Sub Zero Betrayed Scorpion And Turned Evil Scene - Mortal Kombat 1 Jeremy: I feel a lot of people have been wondering about why Bi-han turned evil and as a psychology student and armchair psychologist I feel the need to shed some light on why this happened
I do believe that the story is very well written just because of the fact that it captures the small moments that you really should pay attention to.
Bi-han is a man who fundamentally feels that everyone is against him, that no one respects him and that no one deserves sympathy for being a voice against his deepest fear that he is alone.
This frustration inside bi-han was on the verge of a nuclear disaster, all it needed was an obviously evil manipulative psychopath to convice him that HE was right and that no one else really matters except him because he is the only person he can ever really trust. This then turned to rage and an unquenchable thirst for revenge, he had to show everyone HE was worthy, HE had value, HE was someone. He basically turned into a maniacal narcissist, clouded by delusions of grandeur.
He is a really realistic character because this is something that happens in real life. People turn vile and evil because of their childhood. Children need to feel loved and supported and if they dont its a risk that they may turn their path towards evil. Its unlikely but they are a dog without a leash and they REQUIRE guidance.

If Bi-Han's focus was less stubborn and more positive into leading the Lin Kuei into a different role, one stronger but not tyrannical, I would've been on board with it. His motivation does make sense; in his eyes, all he wants for his clan is a better future, and in the world of MK, that means more power.
However, the con to his mission that spits on everything he does is his sheer lack of respect and decency, so much so that is makes him the most dishonorable member, despite him preaching so much about it. Bi-Han throws his Grandmaster title around with so much pride that it eventually means nothing. He talks down to his own brother and practically hates his adopted one, and of course, he let his own father die.
When that secret was revealed, any hope I had for him shed away and I legitimately hated him. I hope in the next game his transformation to Noob Saibot is a gory and painful one.

To be honest, I was expecting Bi-Han to get his redemption in this game (something that I really wanted since he needs one, but maybe the creators showing Bi-Han's flaws and cold side is a way to properly build up his redemption and flesh out his character more, showing us his original personality before doing his redemption. Maybe in the next game, we'll see Bi-Han get it.
Bi-Han (Original Sub-Zero) is the kind of the guy who may seem cold and callous, but he's by no means evil; his personality is a lot deeper than what he may seem on the outside. He's a pretty complicated and enigmatic dude.

I get that he betrayed his family, but. In Bi-han's defense, living a life aimlessly wandering and defending a realm for generations from those who were no real threat seems more like a police force than a clan of assassins. Basically, he was living a life bereft of meaning and needed a new lease on life.
I can understand where he's coming from because doing nothing for generations is a pathetic way of living, and Bi-han wanted something less mundane.

In my eyes Bi han should have remained a good guy. The scenes where he enrertains shang tsungs offer would have been revealed to be a fake out and bi han would have shared a conversation with kui liang about morality and how -the lin kuei may be living in mediocrity but they would never work for a snake like shang tsung-. It would have been a nice twist but im not complaining.

If there is one thing I did not like about mk 1 is some of the new Origen stories for the characters, scorpion and baraka got the worst ones in my opinion, like, they never explained how kuai liang got the fire powers instead of bi han-s powers, it just doesn-t make sense! If I do like one thing about this version of scorpion is how kuai liang got his scar, that was good!

This is a Sub zero I can respect a man not taking crap off of anybody and do whatever it takes to get the job done and no more going along and getting along that's how make it to the top I'm not going to pay $109 or something only about a bunch of fools would do but when the price drops he's definitely in the top 10

More like how NRS betrayed Sub Zero. He has gaps in all his strings, his ice clone and ice ball dont really confer any advantage, his damage output is about 15% less than anyone else and some of his combos function differently depending on if you are P1 or P2.
This game needs a patch asap.

If this was hanzo hasashi he would've destroyed Shao, Raiko, Quan chi(Again-, Rain, Havik and Darrius, Annnnnnnnd Bi-Han. Again -.
But if its Kuai liang meh they would still be bros with smoke now those are the trios i loved. But i still loved the old bi-han-.

3: 54 Ermac: We are Charged With Defending The Fortress! None Will Escape Us!
11: 19 Kuai Liang: But, Brother.
Bi-Han: Obey Your grandmaster.
18: 29 Kuai Liang Fighting Bi-Han Reminds Me of Kenshiro Fighting Raoh!

reply

This is way better than the previous timeline. Quan Chi's frame job of massacring the Shirai Ryu clan. And now, Sub Zero and Scorpion's conflict is all about sibling quarrel than rivals.
reply

I always thought that Kuai Liang just threw away the lin kuei badge, just realized he gave it back to Bi Han, somehow it feels like returning the company laptop after you resign ---
reply

During an intro dialogue against Shao, Bi Han mentions a new apprentice. If she's Frost, it will only be a matter of time before he tastes his own medicine.
reply

I wonder if he only hates smoke because of that smoker's voice he got for being around him too long
Bi-han's got stage 3 lymphoma from the sound of things -

reply

Im sorry but megan fox was a terrible choice to play nitarra-she needs to put more -OOF- in her voice and show more passion in her voice acting.
reply

Can-t wait for Bi Han to become Noob Saibot, if he does in this new universe but he really needs to take something for his throat to clear it up-
reply

Kuai Liang is the real Sub-Zero. Bi-Han is fake Sub-Zero. He-s forever Noob Saibot in my book. We need Hanzo Hasashi back as Scorpian ASAP.
reply

It bothers me seeing shao get whooped by everybody. Only a few people should be able to beat him. Not every person the player is. But whatever
reply

I don-t mind Bi-Han being evil (he-s my favorite character) I just wish they made him a bit more likeable to others before he turned
reply

MK9 - Kuai Liang to Bi Han. We may share blood but we are not brothers
MK1 - Kuai Liang to smoke. We may not share blood, we are brothers

reply

Not that this would work or apply but that'd be cool if Scorpion were to grab Sub Zero and yells hysterically, YOU BETRAYED YOUR UNIFORM
reply

I think Bi-Han will get a redemption ark in future games, he doesn't seem outright evil here, just power-hungry and misguided
reply

Bi han is awesome in this time line stayed true to his original self, cold and Ruthless no matter what. Ed boon did a brilliant job
reply

Love this. I love the characters that turned face but of course we shouldn't make everybody into a heroic character.
reply

Mortal Kombat X and 11 Kuai Liang has a scar as younger Sub Zero.
Mortal Kombat 1 Kuai Liang has a scar as Scorpion.

reply

Bi-hans voice and demeanor shouldve been a huge indicator that he was going to be a dickhead from the start.
reply

16: 51 how can scorpion get hurt from a heating cauldron when he possesses fire power without burning himself!
reply

-sigh- this is why I hate Bi-Han so much, because he betrayed his brother so easily in this story mode.
