I know it doesn't matter since MK1 restarts everything
But it does make me curious when this would take place.
I feel like this would be taking place DURING the events of MK9. Lao is still alive, and Jax has metal arms, so during the MKII chapter. But I feel like regardless of how you spin it, there is continuity errors.
After all, Sheeva is queen, Kabal has his mask on, Smoke is cyberized.

I think this is the first storyline where Scorpion (the wraith version of him anyway) actively decides -Oh crap, allying with the bad guys to achieve my goals is perhaps not the brightest idea and may apparently have some terrible consequences, so I'm going to do the right thing and involve people who don't want to conquer any realms-.

I think I find this game a little more enjoyable than Mortal Kombat 1, as Onslaught has Kuai Liang as Sub-Zero, Hanzo Hasashi as Scorpion, Jax, Sonya, Liu Kang as Mortal Kombat Champion and Raiden God of Thunder once again!

The inconsistent use of models between rendered cinematic, artwork, and in-game cinematic is extremely distracting. It's very obvious this game was designed as an afterthought.
