So guys, i will have about $600 by january. I want to become a film director, and i want to ge into USC. I want to create videos that have a film like quality to them, and i do not like digital feels when it comes to video cameras. I am a sophmore in high school this year. I have a family laptop, and a 720p flip camcorder. Well my question is, should i invest in a computer right now, or should i buy a camera and some equipment? And what computer or camera and/or equipment should i get? Thanks: )

Okay. It's January haha lucky
I'd go with the T3i / 600d, or for a bit cheaper, Go with the T2i / 550d if you can find it cos it's outmoded. Its a great camera, And to get the most out of it, I'd get Magic lantern and Cinestyle. (They are free) Magic Lantern is a hack to bring the most out of the camera, bypassing limits, and Cinestyle is a Shooting Picture style that has a higher dynamic range. Good luck on your Filmmaking life bro.

Isn't it amazing how visual grammar is effective? Just from the fades to/from black after the intro, I knew something serious was coming. I'm not saying Griffin is a genius for using it, but that's just a bit of the power of cinema working xD

I don't think there is any lens that is wide angle enough to see the same wide as the human eye's, even with the best sensor and the best wide angle lens
