this could stand in for a pretty decent telepresence platform. which is basically what you need for better navigation and shooting remotely - hell put a stereo camera rig on it and patch it into a Gear VR or occulus for even more immersive control/ telepresence, maybe even allowing control over the net so people can take part in trying their hand at movie filming or even sort of an interactive play where a single person or groups of people can direct the robot. Put the camera mount on a telescoping gimbled arm thingy and you have even more options. Combined with a few drones this could be a kick ass setup for amazing camera angles and fun experimentation on the cheap.

Hey Erik great build! planning to build one for my own; I got some questions, to start with, any electric wheelchair will do? I mean are they usually have the same motor and wiring system? and concerning the Sabertooth motor drive's being dual 32A is based on motor's power? or they are standard to have 32 A?

Can you suggest on how to make similar rig (or at lest forward/backward dolly) but for a DSLR and under 100$?
I know it can be done, but I'm not a craftsman (materials are rare and expensive in Israel)
I'm thinking of using an old skateboard and somehow put a slow quite motor on it

Yo! Loved the episode! Do you think theres anyway you could build a one-man walking Film Set up? Like a PVC Backpack that you can attach a Audio Recorder and Mic to as well as a place for a Shoulder Rig and camera? Slightly Crazy But could be beyond Usesful! Thanks keep up the great work!

Welcome back Eric! very good work on the robot! I just got me a DJI Phantom Camera drone on the web, complete with an HD camera on a 3 axis gimbal. This costed me $500. I dare you build a similar drone for cheaper!

HI! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, BUILD AN ELECTRIC, REMOTELY CONTROLLED WAY TO PAN A 360 CAMERA. (I really would appreciate to build an electric, remotely controlled telescopic pole to use as a kind of vertical crane)

I'm ready to start my own camera dolly build. I have the wheelchair. Ready to order all the parts. Just wondering if you have any updates to the suggested parts list since the video first came out?

I like the Thumbs Up of Approval when stuff works, but I LOVE the old sound effects/intro/price tag graphics. Whatever you do, keep that stuff!

Why not just put a PVC pipe ontop of a RC car. then put the threaded bolt thing for the camera on an end cap then put the end cap on the pipe.

I would like to see more props. I don't care what movie or game it's from. I just want to see something made on a backyard budget.

Seagulls keep attacking my Phantom 3 near the coast. Can you build a device that the drone can carry that will scare off the birds?

I'd love to see you do a landscape miniature for a massive scene like a city wide destruction, a flood, or a monster movie.

Can you make a good Steadicam or Camera Crane that works well and that the average guy could build on a tight budget?
