Hi, so a few things I did not hear you talk about is battery life and if you can exchange batteries as well as operating temperature. . I am considering the Pocket 2 since I already use the DJI Osmos 3 for my S20 phone and like the software MIMO. 2- things are concerning. I want to shoot outdoors and in Canada the temp is often below 10C and my osmos operating temp is 0-40C and I think the pocket starts having issues at below -8C which means most winter sports and stuff cannot use the Pocket? Also, the Hero has interchangable batteries which is awesome when your in the woods or need more than 2-hours filming. I cannot find if the pocket 2 battery can be swapped out?

Great video. I cant get my head around AFs and AFC.
Is AFS like manual focus? so you click on it once and it's focused at that point. So for example
Click AFS once on a landscape.
Move behind a rock ( rock should be blurred out)
Pan /slide left and landscape will be in focus.
AFC always does auto focus
Landscape is in focus
move behind rocK
and it will refocus on the rock
when would you use AFS vs AFC

I know this is an old video, but I wanted to get the pocket 2 but found out you can't get additional batteries. that won't work for me, if I am out all day on a day trip and after 140 min my battery is drained. I don't have time to wait to for the battery to recharge. I just wish they had replaceable batteries like the GoPro has. I will just get a simple gimbel for the GP if I want better stabilization.

In my opinion, it seems that if you want truly flawless stabilization in any situation (that doesn't involve water) then the DJI pocket 2 is the clear winner. If however a near perfect stabilization is good enough and you need something more rugged which you can not only use in the rain, but actually take it under water, then it seems that the Hero 9 is the best choice all around.

Just seeing this. I own both but find myself using the Pocket 2 much more. Video quality & stabilization are the main reasons. The larger sensor on the 2 also gives it the advantage at night. My only advantage to the GoPro is for rain or other inclement weather situations. The new anamorphic lens for the 2 really gives you those cinematic shots that are great for SloMo.

I have both and think that they are meant for different tasks. The pocket 2 does a horrible job with stabilization on walking videos (you all are not showing the ninja walk in this video. The GoPro does a horrible job with switching functions when you have the horizon lock setting enabled. These two devices complimenter to one another versus competitors.

Go Pro looks a lot more Clear and better vivid colors, also if you get a gimble for the Go Pro it will destroy the Pocket 2. I Personally was thinking of getting a Pocket 2 to use it more then my Go Pro Hero 8 for Car Shows but i think i will just get a Gimble for my Go Pro instead.

I think that Gopro hero 9 is not at all comparable to Osmo Poket 2, but unfortunately there are still a few things missing with DJI Pocket 2 such as replaceable battery, waterproof, battery life. Otherwise, Osmo Poket 2 is of course much better than Gopro hero 9.

I really appreciate the video, but not a fair comparison since the hero was not placed in a gimbal. I love the pocket 2 by the way-just a remarkable product. Thanks again! By the way, there is a new gimbal out now specifically for the go pro 9.

for me the gopro wins hands down. for vloging the pocket 2 is a good cam but it's all it's good for wheres the gopro 9 is a action cam so it's good for vloging and action and do much much more than the pocket 2 and the pocket 2 is more expensive

I have both cameras gorp black 7 and Dji pocket 2. Dji at the night time it's very clear and the pictures are perfect gopro need alot of light to see the video clear. Pictures in gopro is not good as Dji. Gopro at the day time is perfect.

wondering why there isn't a camera like this aimed at action sports. Would love to get an all in one gimbal/camera for a chest mount for mountain biking. Gopro is good but think this would be a game changer.

Do you feel the Pocket 2 would be sufficient for recording video of kids baseball and soccer games? Or would a traditional handheld camcorder still be ideal with the additional zoom that it provides?
reply

ok i don't anything about cameras. can somebody please tell me why gp9 video looks more vibrant than p2. is this a thing that can be overcome by editing or it's the difference in camera quality

Damn, you started talking about squarespace. I went and took a piss, washed my hands and took out my contact lenses. Came back and you were still talking about squarespace.

Gopro 9 is waterproof by itself but Pocket require separate waterproof case. I think it depends on types of usage as Gopro is more durable and waterproof

You should also mention which one is realistic based on contrast and sharpness, because we dont know if you are reddish or yellowish.

If you want stabilized video in low light, get the Osmo pocket. I love GoPro cameras but a mechanical gimbal works best in low light.

Does the Pocket Pro film for an hour or so in 4K without breaking up the footage into minute chunks like the GoPro's?
reply

I have the Hero7, looking for a second angle for my videos and thinking this gimble deal may also come in handy.
