As an occasional hobbyinst photographer who still likes to watch your stuff because this is an interesting subject to me: You cover a lot of how to do things, I would like to see/learn more about the why of doing those things.
I guess this is basic film school 101 stuff which I'm not familiar with, but there's a lot going on in how the blocking/lighting/colour grade/etc that supporting something in the story/character & relationships/etc beyond just looking good, and I'm interested in learning how & why that works.

I do wonder what will happen to theaters and big budget movies if streaming gets an equal footing. For me, I really enjoy going to matinee movies rather than opening nights because I don't like sitting next to people, lol. But I have been to a few and do see the appeal. Like Dave was saying, maybe they will transition to smaller theaters with premium features and much more expensive tickets. Though, I'd imagine a lot of people in that price bracket already have serious home theater setups.

I also think that a video on how to shoot a short film on a $5000 budget (this would include buying a camera, a lens or two, microphone, lighting, etc) What's the bare essentials that's cost affective but your films would look as good as they can. I have a SL3 but I'm about to get a a6400 so I can get log and hlg with a 16-55mm f2. 8 and a 16mm f1. 4 to start my filmmaking journey.

Happy Holidays is offensive. It's almost always clear which holiday you are not naming, so don't be shy. Do be culturally sensitive it wouldn't be appropriate in Australia, Happy ANZAC Day it's a day we remember those who died in war.
It's not as if Muslims and Jews can ignore Christmas, but there's no reason to not join in the general well-wishing,

Since you were talking about the future of cinema and how the 'rona has played a role in it. Something crazy we saw happen with a local theater, was that you can rent out an ENTIRE theater room for some ridiculously low price, and watch whatever movie you want. Have you seen anything like that happening near you guys?

Dave joined Ted at Indy Mogul! That was awesome in 2020! Also, I hope it's not the end of movie theaters. There is nothing better for movies than the big screen experience. I did the same thing Ted did. I found a theater playing Tenet to see it as Christopher Nolan intended. It was incredible. Happy New Year!

Been watching Indymogul since the EARLY days. Seen all the host changes. Seen it die for awhile. Seen it rise again under Ted. Love you guys and what you bring to the filmmaking discussion. Cheers to 2021 being a less weird year with more productions happening and some sense of normalcy resuming.

Dudes! Luv the show, but. Just to be different you should drag in some film cameras (Panavision, Arri, IMAX) and go over them because they are using them in the industry. Look at Chris Nolan or J. J. Abrams. They all shoot on film. Just a suggestion. Try to get an IMAX camera to demo. LOL

I would love to see more tutorials about lighting techniques and creative solutions. I think that the video about product shooting using top light was one of the most useful for me this year. :)
